But the RAF has 8 of these Shadow R1 planes - which had been sufficient for 18 months of operations - so this made little sense But, now, the US-subcontracted plane is flying other spy missions from RAF Akrotiri. The flight below, on January 10, flew over Israel, West Bank and Jordan before turning off its transponder as it approached Iraq. Could it have been on its way to Iran?
