Indiana Fever Fan - Narrative Pushback with a side of humor.

This old man’s wife would have been writing his obituary if he was a Fever fan at an Aces game.

When they called the F2 on Thomas after the SLO-Mo film circulated. ESPN was upset narratives were being made because it wasn’t in game speed. Now when the F2 is called on Carrington, espnW says you have to slow the film down to judge it properly, because it looks worse at game speed. Andraya thinks it should have been a F1. Make it make sense please. It’s so disgustingly obvious the narrative spins based on who the players are. Indiana Fever John Nolan Pat Boylan Fever/Pacers

Man watching the Mystics game and kudos to them. The refs wanted to see the Aces come back and take this. Hard to win when you can’t get calls like this. Impressive win Mystics.

Elite 8 game. Clark’s Junior Year. Arguably Clark’s biggest game of her life up until that point. She came to Iowa and promised to take them to a Final Four. Everyone laughed but her and Lisa Bluder. If you watch the game, Vanlith starts hot. Louisville jumps out to an early 8 point lead, and Iowa is scoreless. Then Clark takes over…with Sue Bird in the stands, her first time seeing Clark in person. Caitlin puts up the first 40 point triple double in Tournament History, carry’s the team to their First Final Four, and Caitlin put the team on her back to deliver on her promise. Ryan and Lobo were on the call. You Bet.

Can you imagine seeing this, Plum practically rips Kelsey Mitchell arm off and no call, Sydney Colson calls it out, and the OPPs turn on her because she’s on the Fever and start slamming her on X.

ITS CONFIRMED. Sheryl Swoopes was supposed to call the Fever game yesterday, but because she cannot act like a professional commentator, she was replaced by Nancy Lieberman. Swoopes has some vendetta against a 22 year old girl who has done nothing but revere her. Her legacy is tarnished, even beyond her college coaching career. #WNBA #Feverrising

Remember it Caitlin’s rookie year, when they asked Jewel Loyd about Caitlin after their loss to the Fever and Jewel refused to even talk about her. When we talked about it, we were told that reporters never are supposed to ask a team after a loss about another opposing player, and of course no one would say anything nice. We were gaslit yet again.

Oh man ShowTyme Always on Point and his crew were so triggered by Caitlin winning player of the game. This is cope like I have never heard: “It’s a popularity contest.” “Player of the Game in FIBA is stupid.” You need to turn your basketball card in if you think she was player of the game. You can smell the smoke from their brains working overtime to try to minimize this performance by CC.

Actually Haley will tell you she was waiving at her strength trainer. This has been regurgitated over and over again, but it doesn’t fit your narrative. Also, what about the optics of Angel pulling Millas hair? Was that “unclassy as hell?”

I came to the WNBA because of Clark. I have become a fan of other players through watching Fever games and other games subsequently since I have gotten here. I did it reluctantly because of media members like this, who continually labeled all the new fans as bad. Said we didn’t do our homework, needed to respect the legends, and we needed to understand our favorite wasn’t the best and there would be an adjustment period because she was going to play with grown women. But imagine a world where they didn’t pushback on new fans coming in thinking their favorite was the best, and just welcomed them and organically let them become fans of other players and the WNBA. Imagine their priority was to grow the game, rather than to gate keep it.

As a parent of a soon to be 20 old, young lady, this is the most powerful advice you can give, and something sorely lacking in young women today unfortunately. This is one of the reasons I love this young lady.
