I only had one burger in New York and I took an uber almost an hour to try it. You can find it at a tiny pizza place in Brooklyn called Emily. Many have said this is not just the best burger in New York but maybe in the US. I will say that this is one of the juiciest most flavorful burgers I have ever had. But far and away the best old fashioned I had in NYC was in a tiny tucked away lounge at Grand Central Terminal. This is The Campbell Bar, the restored 1920’s office space of John W Campbell. It took me a few switchbacks to find the entrance but it was totally worth it. I don’t know how that window made it 100 years but it is stunning to behold in person. This old fashioned ranks with some of the best I can remember and was the perfect way to warm up when I couldn’t feel my face. 🥶🥃🥰 📍The Campbell Bar, Grand Central Terminal, NYC

The rooms at Vanderpump Hotel are now open. This is a standard king room. Lots of light with sage and lavender accents. A stark contrast to the dark sexy hallway. The bathroom is mostly retained from Cromwell but otherwise a total renovation. Minutes after walking into the room, because it is the first night of the rooms being available, I was greeted with a welcome wagon and gifts of rosé and whiskey and a lovely box of chocolates.🥰 I returned to the room after visiting Gigolo, the lobby bar, and the room was turned down with slippers by the bed and chocolates on the nightstand. These wooden escalators located at Macy’s Harold Square in NYC were built between 1920-1930 by Otis Elevator Company and all the wood you see is original. The corner suite at Aria is a bit of a splurge but there is plenty to like about this property. This room was $420 with taxes and resort fee. Lights and curtains are automated from an iPad type of panel. Plenty of plugs for your devices on both sides of the bed. Jetted tub next to the floor to the ceiling window. And automated toilet with bidet. I stayed in this room when the property first opened in 2009 and then again last night. Still fairly well maintained. And city center has some of the cleanest windows to allow you to enjoy that view day and night. Add to that all the restaurant, lounge, and shopping options and you have a lovely place to stay. This beautiful space comes with massive his and her bathroom suites complete with fancy toilets and stunning views in all directions. This particular room is on the 7th floor with a view just behind the lake village and a sneaky peek at the villa patios. No direct view of the lake at this level but hard to be angry about it. Let’s talk about M Resort in Henderson. They opened in 2009 but this is my first visit. This is the Resort Room, strip view, king and was booked on Travelocity for $207 on a Thursday night. Resort fee is $39.99 but this fee is waived for locals and parking (including valet) is free. The room is spacious and clean and very quiet. The strip view also overlooks the pool.
