Puppy Bess and Auntie Kes

Shorts

I got chased at the park by a horrible dog and was really spooked. As soon as we got home I headed straight to my safe place

I have been provisionally booked for a keyhole spay on 24 August. It’s much more expensive than a normal spay but is less invasive and the recovery is quicker. There are enough border collies in rescues and we didn’t want to bring more collies into the world - even Bess babies

Dad says finally I have laid in a sensible place. People say: “Why don’t you get air conditioning?” We have air conditioning and I don’t go in that room “Why don’t you get her a pool?” I have a pool and don’t go in it “Why don’t you put a fan on her?” There are multiple fans

Oh hi. My name is Bess. I am 0 years old, and my hobbies include lying upside down and dedding Mr Pigeon

I may be very ill but I am still project managing. Dad needs to change the oil in one of the bikes and as usual he needs supervision

My limp is bad

Wait for it…

First ever (official) walkies

I just learned to catch!!! Literally a minute ago

Dad says this is border collie mayhem caused by border collie filth. I say HOW RUDE!!

They’re here! Birthday cards. If you want a birthday card from me please send a message with your name and address. Please donate whatever you like to either Border Collie Trust or Diane Hart Collie Dog Rescue, Wales. Please don’t ask me how to make payments as I don’t know. Thank you! 😘

This was super scary. And it’s 0°C. We’re headed back to the car

Dad’s been to Oldham to a hospice where there was a very ill biker on end of life care. And they organised for fifty bikes to turn up and rev their engines and it made him very happy

So…we had some drama on our walkies. Here is part 1. We don’t realise something is wrong, very wrong, until the end…

There has been an horrible and terrible tragedy. And, more specifically, I don’t know how it happened. I’d like to make that very clear The horror, the horror…

I loved my final holiday

I am a border collie and therefore spechul

It is my birthday. I am 1 today

2025 was Auntie Kes’s last. But she and Dad adventured and explored right to the very end. Try and watch without getting a tear in your eye ❤️

The first time I’ve ever been in the pool

Ever since I had my first season everything has changed. I still need two or three walks a day but in between that as long as I get enough hugs (I need a lot of hugs) I’m happy to sleep. I am naturally a happy lazy little puppy

Her final evening was a beautiful one

A few people have been concerned about me out walking in the snow. I love it! I’m never happier than when out exercising. It’s what I’m born for as a border collie. And it’s the best way to get healthy again. And I am improving every day

An update on my health

Auntie Kes had the BEST final week

I am enjoying my afternoon in the sun

This is my reality at the moment. Zoned out and unaware

A year ago today. Auntie Kes’ last ever visit to the beach
