This is Mt. Koubru, the Meiteis' one of the most sacred mountains. Lord Koubru is synonymous with Meiteis as it is intertwined with the history of Meiteis, ever since the origin of Meiteis. Till very recently, Koubru was covered with thick forests, rich in flora and fauna. Atop the mountain, there's a lake which the Meiteis consider sacred, and the shrine of Lord Koubru. A 🧵 Wiki editor Kautilya3 seem to have taken a snippet from The Indian Express by Deeptiman Tiwary as the gold standard from which he wrongly concluded that violence started in Kangvai as early as 12:30pm, and hinted #Meiteis were the instigators. The statement from IE was very vague and no other news media caught up. Deeptiman Tiwary must clarify his source and the news itself. Astor (KUKI KA PARIVAR) was right here in saying there was no violence in Kangvai between 12:30pm to 2:30pm. The truth is Manipur Police found two bodies in Kangvai on 4th May. One victim was believed to have been k!lled around 5:00pm on the 3rd while the other on 4th May at around 4:30pm. There is no other evidence of dead bodies being discovered on May 3.
