Role models matter. Listen to our client Lainey Armistead describe how she felt when her soccer hero, Megan Rapinoe, betrayed her on the issue of men in women’s sports. You can hear the emotion in her voice. Thankfully, Lainey was strong. She found her courage anyway. She fought for women and girls all the way to the Supreme Court. But it’s so much easier to stand for truth when you’re not alone. And that’s why Sophie Cunningham’s open defense of biological reality is so important. It’s important because gender ideology depends on silence to survive. The idea that a boy can become a girl is false—and falsehoods are fragile. This lie was only able to take over our cultural institutions because so many people were afraid to speak out, afraid to lose their jobs, afraid to be accused of “hate” or “transphobia” on social media—or by star athletes like Megan Rapinoe. So when young women like Lainey, Madi, and MK spoke out for truth, the spell began to break. Other young women found their courage too. The tide began to turn. But still, there was silence from those with the biggest platforms and the most to lose: female athletes currently playing professional sports. Sophie has shattered that silence, bolstering the courage of countless young women. And she’s just one of the first. If the pattern holds, there will be more.

As I said on CNN: It’s absurd to suggest that children can understand & consent to dangerous medical decisions that often lead to the irreversible mutilation of their bodies. Common sense tells us this & so does the science. Evidence-based medicine should trump gender ideology.

.Allie Beth Stuckey is correct: under the Biden admin, schools that resisted gender ideology faced losing lunch funds for needy kids. Alliance Defending Freedom helped Rapides Parish (LA) school district sue USDA over this policy. It was resolved when Trump took office & rescinded the Biden policy. I’m grateful for this model of a civil discussion from both sides.
