Melat Kiros has said the massacre of Israeli civilians on Oct 7 was "the inevitable consequence of apartheid." I asked Kiros if she thought the same thing about 9/11 and US foreign policy. And she declined to call the firebombing of Jews in Boulder an act of anti-semitism.

Colorado Gov Jared Polis (D) released Tina Peters, saying she was remorseful despite obvious evidence to the contrary. “I do show remorse,” Peters said today. “The remorse is that people that should be in prison are not. That's my remorse.”

Victor Marx claims to have been forced to kill a man at age 7. And he talks about the necessity of killing people in the course of his "high-risk missionary" work. So I asked him how many people he's killed on his missions. "Does it matter?" Marx said.

Governor Polis' first press conference since he granted clemency to Tina Peters focused on healthy foods. POLIS: "While I chew on the carrot, any questions?" (reporters asked about Peters/clemency) POLIS: "I'm going to finish chewing my carrot."

GOP Rep Lauren Boebert is OK with Trump punishing Colorado over immigration, climate research, or Tina Peters. Just not her district's project. "These are people who overwhelmingly voted for President Trump," Boebert told me. "These are not the people who should be attacked"

NEW: Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) says she doesn't think her rift with President Trump will last and she wasn't bothered by him calling her dumb. I asked Boebert why she and other Rs tolerate Trump's abuse. "I don't see it as abuse, I think it's part of the DC nature," she said.

CO GOP Gov candidate Victor Marx got caught taking illegally large campaign contributions, so he told supporters to funnel unlimited money to him through a new online merch site. He wouldn't tell us who ran or it where the money is going... so we bought some merch to find out...

In March, I asked Tina Peters whether she and/or Donald Trump would be in prison in a year or two. She laughed and said if she thought she was going to prison she'd be relaxing on a beach somewhere. Today, she was taken into custody to begin a 9-year sentence. #copolitics

Rep Gabe Evans (R-CO) avoids in-person town halls and media outlets where he'll face direct questions. Our Marshall Zelinger caught up with Evans to ask how many Coloradans will soon lose SNAP food benefits. Evans repeatedly dodged the question.

NEW: Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told Congress today that local law enforcement in Colorado leaked word of a raid, allowing gang members to clear out of apartments. Those apartments were being cleared out weeks earlier. Tonight, ICE deleted social media posts with the claim.

Gov. Jared Polis passed over other deserving inmates to give clemency to Tina Peters, according to two members of his clemency board who revealed Polis overruled the unanimous recommendation of his experts. Polis has now fired both of them.

The Trump administration says Colorado’s voter rolls were “compromised.” Sounds scary, until you find out those are publicly available records and by “compromised” they just mean “downloaded.”
