Cannabis was my off ramp from SSRIs and benzodiazepines. I did not use it to replace those medications or to mask anxiety or depression. I used it to get off them. Anyone who has tried to wean off SSRIs or benzos knows how hard that can be. Cannabis helped reduce the withdrawal and made the process manageable. That experience changed how I saw this plant. A lot of what I had been taught about cannabis was simply wrong. For me it wasn’t an escape. It was a legitimate tool that worked when I needed it. That realization set the direction of my life. I devoted myself to understanding this plant and to helping build a serious, regulated industry around it so others would not have to suffer in silence or shame. That is why I broke down on the livestream. For the first time in more than 50 years, the federal government acknowledged that cannabis has medicinal value. Schedule III does not fix everything, but it is real progress. I have spent my adult life in this industry. Seeing that moment happen hit deeper than I expected. Schedule III is a step forward, and sometimes a step is enough to remind you why you started in the first place.

This just happened. Look how easy this dispensary robbery was. No rush. No fear. They locked the door behind them and took their time. 500,000 licensed industry workers face this risk every day in this $40B industry. It’s time for federal action. Pass banking. End the state/federal conflict. American lives are on the line. It’s getting ridiculous at this point.
