Within 48 hours of the launch of Operation KO S’AYE by Lagos and Ogun State Police Command. The operation has recorded a major breakthrough. Operatives combing the forest boundaries between Lagos and Ogun States along J3/ J4 axis of Ogbere in Ogun State, successfully rescued five (5) kidnapped victims and neutralised four (4) suspected kidnappers, arrested 4 kidnapping suspects and 84 other suspects, recovered arms ammunition and other exhibits. The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in ensuring there is no hiding place for criminals, especially kidnappers, through intelligence-led operations and sustained security efforts. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, today visited Mushin for an on-the-spot assessment following a reported IED scare. Following a distress call alleging an explosion in the early hours of today, operatives of the EOD-CBRN Unit were immediately deployed to the scene. After cordoning off the area and conducting a thorough assessment, search, and recovery operation, the location was declared safe and free of any IED threat. The Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain calm and continue their lawful activities, assuring them of adequate security measures to safeguard lives and property.

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, through the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips dismantled a criminal syndicate involved in conspiracy, obtaining goods under false pretence, fraudulent conversion, stealing, and the issuance of dud cheques. The breakthrough followed investigations into three separate cases, which revealed a coordinated syndicate that fraudulently obtained exotic vehicles from dealers using false representations and dud or post-dated cheques before disposing of the vehicles for personal gain. The investigation led to the arrest of key suspects, while other members of the syndicate remain at large. Through intelligence-led operations and the AUTOREG Vehicle Tracking Platform, detectives recovered Toyota Highlander (2017 Model), Toyota Highlander (2007 Model), Toyota RAV4 (2010 Model), two (2) Toyota Hiace Buses (2016 Model), one Toyota Hiace Bus (2020 Model), and one Ford Edge SUV (2018 Model). Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and recover the remaining vehicles. The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations. The Lagos State Police Command advises vehicle dealers and business owners to exercise due diligence before releasing vehicles, particularly where payment is made through post-dated cheques or unfamiliar intermediaries.
