Say hello to Piper the Aussie. Gave her a cute nub so she’s even easier to travel with. There is a lot of new things I tested on her which I will be able to pass over to commissions. Was also my first more form fitting neck and smaller all around. Hand paws are made by Mango Island ☺️

First head scan, using their “far” setting. Quickly put a balaclava on my husband to cover his hair to make the scan (will do a better scan with a form fitting balaclava). Put it in nomad and I’m ready to sculpt a head that fits him perfectly. I’m going to be able to make really form fitting heads with scans 😊 I love tech.

Muzzle I am working on for a commission. The muzzle itself is 3D printed foaming TPU so it’s soft and light. The teeth and nose are hard PLA. Nose clicks into the inner upper muzzle are to keep it in place. Happy with how this smaller build head for a customer is coming along. Waiting on the rest of the parts to finish printing to assemble.

Lynx quick test fit, prints not fully cleaned yet. Wanted to be able to create a more refined neck on this one based on how the head fits. Slightly smaller base overall to fit the customer better. Foaming TPU (which needs to be sanded to be fully cleaned up) and PLA parts where it needs it. WIP 🚧

Our first puppet here at Mixedcandy. Sunnie the Spaniel ➡️ Megaplex 2026 🦕 and I have been working on this project on an off for a while and we can finally call it done. It was a learning experience full of trial and error but really happy we did it. Wanted it to match my art, fursuits and toys so he’s a mix of all that. Already have ideas for the next one, as this one only fits smaller hands.

Working on a fox puppet at the moment and playing around with a few techniques. TPU printed with some parts printed in PLA where it needs it. Eye is just paper and so is the tongue. A very early test to show where I’m going with this.

Esun Foaming TPU works very similar varioshores foaming TPU but easier to get and priced lower for a kilo spool. This stuff is fantastic but definitely avoid as many supports as you can. This piece had a tiny amount of supports as a test but thankfully it detached pretty well without destroying the surface. With this TPU you can print with walls instead of infill only meaning you can do the lowest amount of infill without it messing with the shape because of the walls. You can make extremely light pieces as well. This is part of the head base I am currently trying to get done so split the main head model into 8 parts. Will glue the parts once they are all printed. Infill was 6% and 2 walls (stick to zig zag supports with low infill for easier removal). The more walls the less flex so play around with the settings. Had this printing at 240 to get a good amount of foaming but could easily bump it to 250 for more. Less heat creates a more rigid piece as well. Hot glue sticks to this material ⭐️

Fox Head Base WIP. Still a lot to do and alter a few things before I call it done. Going to work on some eyelids, eyebrows, tongue, change the bottom jaw a bit and create the color mesh for the eyes. Very happy with the way this project is taking shape. The head is a combination of TPU and PLA.
