#LestWeForgetIndia 🇮🇳 26 years of #Kargil TWENTY-SEIX YEARS ago, #OnThisDay 15 May 1999, a patrol of 4 JAT led by Captain Saurabh Kalia, along with Sepoys Arjun Ram Baswana, Bhanwar Lal Bagaria, Bhikha Ram Moondh, Moola Ram Bidiyasar, and Naresh Singh Sinsinwar, went missing during a reconnaissance mission at Point 5299 (Bajrang Post) in Kaksar Sector, Kargil It was unknown at the time was that these six brave hearts had been captured alive by the Pakistani Army. What followed remains one of the most inhumane war crimes in modern military history. When their mutilated mortal remains were returned to the Indian Army on 09 June 1999, the truth of the torture and brutality they endured sent shockwaves across the country. Today, we salute the indomitable courage of Captain Kalia and his men — the first Indian patrol to confront the enemy in Kargil — and remember their supreme sacrifice with solemn pride and unyielding resolve. Wing Commander Namansh Syal comes home one last time... On November 21, Wg Cdr Syal tragically lost his life in a Tejas fighter jet crash during the Dubai Air Show. Today, he returned to his soil. His mortal remains were brought back to his ancestral village, Patialkar in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. And in a moment that will remain etched in the nation’s heart, his wife Wing Commander Afshan saluted her husband on last time. Accompanying her was their 6-year-old daughter There are no words equal to their strength. There is no tribute equal to his service. Headed home for Eid, he was abducted and killed by terrorists. #LestWeForgetIndia🇮🇳 Rifleman Aurangzeb Khan, Shaurya Chakra (P), 4 JAK LI/44 RASHTRIYA RIFLES, was abducted & killed brutally by terrorists in Pulwama, J&K, #OnThisDay 14 June in 2018 Rfn Aurangzeb was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his act of bravery saving his team member and fighting terrorists on 06 November 2017 during an operation in Shopian. His parents - mother - Raaj Begum and father - Havildar Md Hanif, a veteran of JAK LI received the posthumous Shaurya Chakra on their son's behalf. In July 2019 Rfn Aurangzeb's brothers Mohmmad Tariq and Mohmmad Shabir joined the 156 Infantry Battalion of Territorial Army.
