The world finally cheered a dark skinned Miss Côte d’Ivoire, and the pageant STILL sidelined her. She crushed every category, inspired the crowd, and exposed how deep anti Black beauty standards run. They handed the crown to politics and favoritism, not talent. The chants said it all: Côte d’Ivoire was the real winner. Anti Blackness didn’t win this time, it just exposed itself.

The Media Lynching Must End Meghan Sussex, Jason Arday, Misan Harriman, Diane Abbott, Jude Bellingham: different fields, same racial script. Black people who exercise autonomy are punished for disrupting expectations. Academia scrutinises us more, demands more, yet listens less. Not Even Buried, Yet Another Black Man Targeted Professor Jason Arday hasn’t even had his funeral, yet the media have already selected another Black man for dissection: Simon Woolley. Andrew Gilligan, whose own journalistic record is hardly a shrine to credibility, builds his attack on guilt by association and racialised insinuation. Woolley’s decades of fighting racism is somehow twisted into a case against his fitness to lead. The pattern is obscene: when Black men achieve historic heights, racist journalists become desperate.

Tourists in Jamaica right now, are treating Hurricane Melissa like it’s part of their sightseeing tour. Rather than cutting their losses and heading home, they’ve decided to stay and document their experience for clout. The disregard for Jamaica and Jamaican people, is deplorable.
