Yesterday, I had a very productive meeting with the incoming Governor of Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adéọlá Olamilekan Yayi Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI. CON, FCA , where we discussed the future of our dear state. One thing that stood out was his interest in the aspirations of young people, particularly Gen Z, who will play a defining role in shaping Ogun’s future. We discussed the need to create direct channels for young people to engage with the government, share feedback and contribute meaningfully to policymaking. After all, you cannot build a future for young people without giving them a voice in shaping it. Building a state is a continuous process. The progress made under Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ISEYA provides a foundation upon which we can build, consolidate and advance our collective aspirations as a people. For me, the journey from ISEYA to ITESIWAJU is about moving Ogun State forward, building on the gains of today to realise the greater possibilities of tomorrow. I believe in Senator YAYI, I believe in what his ITESIWAJU agenda represents, and I believe in his bold, practical and vivid vision for Ogun State. I will do everything within my power to support his emergence as Governor and contribute to the realisation of the Ogun State of our dreams. This is bigger than politics for me. It is about the future of our people, the opportunities available to our young people and the kind of state we want to leave for the next generation. ITESIWAJU is more than a political aspiration; it is a promise of a brighter future, greater opportunities and a better Ogun State for all of us under a Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi leadership.

I am devastated right now. Tuesday, Ope Ola Grace called my attention to a woman who she saw at Sweet Sensation, OPIC Abeokuta with a child who appeared visibly malnourished. When I went even o check, she was no longer there. I finally got the chance to go see her moments ago and I met the baby like this. I don't know what to do. I'm thinking the worst but this woman is still holding on to the child that she's sleeping. Tried telling her to follow me to the hospital, but she refused. I have called the Commissioner for Women Affairs, and she's on her way to meet us here.

I lost some of my faith in people yesterday. Do you all remember this story of the woman we found on the road carrying a dead child? Around 3pm yesterday while I was at the hospital, I got a call from Ope Ola Grace. She sounded really confused. I asked what’s wrong then she said she saw this woman at Lafenwa begging for alms among the beggars. I told her to wait there and make sure she doesn’t leave, that I am on my way to confirm with my eyes because it can’t be possible. I got there with Seeker of Truth and it was indeed true. I couldn’t believe what I saw. How’s this possible?? We set up a business worth around N300k for her last December, gave her money, gave her husband extra money to keep. Enrolled her kids (all 3 of them) in school, supplied all needed school materials for one year. Bought at least 3 months worth of food supply for them as well. The Hon Commissioner for women affairs Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye also sent delegates to her with lots of needed items; 25kg bags of rice twice in the last 5 months, 10 crates of soft drink for the wife in January. The commissioner also made sure that her husband was among the 100 beneficiaries of the N100,000 disability grant of the RHI shared on the 17th of April by First Lady Remi Tinubu in Abeokuta. He confirmed that he received the N100k the same day. I called her at the spot to show her the woman and she was confused too. Like, “Jack, what else could we have done?” I asked people there, they said she’s been begging with them for more than a month. When I explained in details all the help we have provided for her in the last 5 months, they got angry, saying she should leave. That’s not even the worst part of this story. The worst, I fear, is she appears pregnant again. However she insisted she’s not, that she just ate eba, that’s why her stomach is big. We took her back home, the husband (visually impaired as I stated then) said he was not aware that she has been begging, and he can’t see, so no way to confirm if she’s pregnant. Everyone in her community said she goes out for 3-4hours everyday when the kids have gone to school to get ‘supplies’ for their mini-stall. They said some other troubling things about her that I won’t want to share here. I am confused on what to do next.

Update: The Commissioner for Women Affairs in Ogun State, Hon. Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye arrived at the scene 15min after I called her with some medics and other assistants. Unfortunately, the baby was pronounced dead. From there, we followed the woman to where she lives (terrible I must say). We found that the husband is blind and she has 2/3 other kids who look visibly malnourished as well. Arrangements has been made for the burial by her team. She has also constituted a committee to take up medical check-ups for the entire family and contribute a fund to set up a business for the woman. I had a bad day. 😥💔

If you care about facts of this issue, let me explain it to you, with video proof. A woman donated the bags of garri to the Senator Yayi campaign office without his prior knowledge. In the original video, without the background song (attached to this post), he was being informed about the woman and he lifted the bag to appreciate the gesture. If you doubt this, it's okay, but before you begin to wail, find someone who understands yoruba to translate the conversation in the video to you. Start from 19secs That said, Yayi as a Senator who has given out hundreds of laptops yearly to students in his constituency since 2023. It's beginning to appear like there is a well orchestrated agenda against Senator Yayi's candidacy.
