CAM: "I mean, just belief that I'm doing the right thing. That's really it. It was a hard call to make to my coach. I had been seeing Grant since I was 9 years old. So I'd been with him for 23 years, and probably one of the most difficult phone calls I've ever had to make" "And, yeah, it's still kind of lingering, but I feel like I've made the right call, and I can see it in my golf and just my strike of the ball and seeing some different shots. RAHM: "I played really good golf. That's the only way to look at it. Just wish I'd have done better with the speed of the greens. Just couldn't seem to get it to the hole, and that's the reason why I didn't hole any more putts" "Even though, even so, what Aaron did today, catching him could have been very difficult. I don't know if could happen, but I would have liked a better chance playing the last two holes. I feel like I was still close on that play 16 until he made that long putt" "As far as I'm concerned, to be in the mix again and hit it as good as I did and perform as well as I did this weekend, it's been a great week. You were very laid back and not looking nervous coming up this last hole in the playoff, joking with Diego Salinas, your caddie. What is it about you that lets you put yourself in that mindset when everybody else is nervous?" NIEMANN: "I'm not going to lie, I was pretty nervous. I'm still a little bit -- I think my heart rate is a little bit up. So was shaky. I feel like it's just part of it. I just love this game. I love being in these moments. I go to 18 the first time and the second time and I was just thankful to be in that moment" "I just feel like you've got to enjoy it. It's a great feeling to be here, hole that putt on 18, have my teammates, have my wife, everybody. 🗣️Cam Smith reflects on his week at the PGA Championship SMITH: "It was really solid. I mean, I got off to the start that I wanted to get off to. Hit a few kind of, I guess, wayward drives there on the back nine, but still had a few looks at birdie and just wasn't able to capitalize on the back nine. Yeah, a little bit frustrating with the putter today, but that's golf" QUESTION: "Impressive performance after a few majors where you missed the cut. What changed for you, and how good does it feel to play like this?" SMITH: "Yeah. I mean, it feels great to play nice. You don't work hard to play crap, and it's frustrating, and the last couple of years have been frustrating. I feel like I've been putting in the work and not really getting anything out of it" "I made a swing coach switch a couple weeks ago now to Claude, and we've just managed to clean up a few things that were perhaps a little bit off, and I feel like I've got a lot more confidence in my swing" "Even out there today, under the pressure I felt like I was able to trust it already. 🗣️ Immediate reaction from Jon Rahm Rodriguez on his LIV Golf Mexico City win FOLTZ: "You said the emotion when you won in Hong Kong was relief. What's the emotion now?" RAHM: "I don't quite know. I think a little bit of it is disbelief. I've performed poorly down the stretch on this course having a chance to win before, so it's almost like I don't let myself believe it. If you would have told me last week on Thursday afternoon that I'd be winning by a six-shot margin this week, I would not have believed you because of how bad I played. Hell of an effort, and just what a Sunday" FOLTZ: "Somebody in the crowd today told me, Jon Rahm plays like a warrior. How much fight is involved to be successful at this level?" RAHM: "You need a lot of fight because even today on the scorecard it might look smooth, but the three-putt on 7, had to make a nice four-footer on 8, the par on 9, the par on 10, that stretch right there could have been very complicated" "It's true from then on I played very well and never really stressed, but the that was the key moment of the round. That putt on the 10th hole was massive. It's just a moment that the scorecard doesn't show. That six-shot lead could have been three fast and maybe one or two coming down the stretch" FOLTZ: "31 individual LIV events in your career, you've finished outside the top 10 once, that was 11th. You've been in the top 5 all season long, four wins now. What's the difference now when you get it across the line and when you don't?" RAHM: "I don't know. I think so far this week it was putting. I made a lot of those putts inside 10 feet. Overall I did everything well this week. I never really put myself too far out of position, and I was able to take my medicine or somehow pull out a shot to put myself in position. So far this weekend I would say it was short game. There was many up-and-downs I didn't get down this week. If I had to give it to something, it was that, the touch around the greens and those par putts" FOLTZ: "Dominant win by your team, as well. What does that say about the chemistry of your team?" RAHM: "Yeah, and two of them didn't really have the best day, right? Tyrrell and Tom didn't have their best day. I think Caleb had a better one today. It says a lot when we can get a win, when I can say that three of the guys didn't really play at the level they can play. I'm fortunate to have these teammates.
