I spoke extensively with someone who worked on Concord, and it's so much worse than you think. It was internally referred to as "The Future of PlayStation" with Star Wars-like potential, and a dev culture of "toxic positivity" halted any negative feedback. Making it cost $400m.

Core PlayStation fans seem unusually upset this generation and I think my simple thesis explains it: The ecosystem no longer runs through us. It hasn't been for two generations. The numbers speak for themselves; just read them. I accepted this reality long ago, as sad as it is.

Like a majority of its audience, I don't care if PlayStation supports physical media. Rather, the question is: How will Sony improve and solidify its digital presence? From ownership to accessibility to security, fixing PSN is the whole ballgame. Here, Sony simply -must- act.

The other day, Grummz shared an 'NDA' so blatantly fake that it belies belief. And he dragged me and Last Stand into his grifting act. Allow me to go through the document in detail to show you how counterfeit it is, and how either dense or dishonest (or both) Grummz himself is.

TODAY IS THE DAY! Our newest game at Lillymo Games -- Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege -- is available RIGHT NOW on all platforms. It costs $10. We're really proud of it. If you're an old-schooler like us, we think you'll love it. (And thanks to all who have been Tweeting me!)

The reality is this: Many game 'pundits' and 'analysts' believed every word Xbox executives fed them. They cheered on -- and often encouraged -- consolidation without a critical eye to the many downstream consequences. I took an enormous amount of abuse, but I was totally right.

I'm 75 hours into Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and it's amazing. Truly. But there's a problem: It's way too long, a common problem with recent years' great AAAs, from RDR2 to TLoU2. AAA games should be tailored experiences, not lifestyles choices. Leave the bloat to A/AA & GaaS.

Xbox is now a third-party publisher, the biggest on PlayStation. How did this happen? It's simple: Microsoft flew too close to the sun. Buying Activision destroyed its exclusives ecosystem. Now, it'll rely on Sony and Nintendo to drive future revenue forevermore. Crazy stuff.

PS5 Pro's lack of a disc drive is upsetting to some, but it's more-so a reminder of presentday reality. 80% of EA's sales are digital. 90% for Capcom. And so on. If you're using discs on a console this generation, more power to you. Just accept you're a relic from a bygone era.

My favorite part of yesterday's Sacred Streaming was my five minute rant on the World Cup and how insane soccer's timekeeping system is. It's nonsensical and absurd to such an extreme degree that it feels like a conspiracy against me, specifically, that so few people agree.

The video game 'culture war' continues to be largely occupied by people who aren't frankly intellectually equipped for... well... seemingly anything at all. They should leave the finer complexities to people with IQs higher than room temperature. It's embarrassing at this point.

It's true that Horizon: Zero Dawn and Forbidden West have sold a combined ~35 million copies across PS4, PS5, and PC. An insane success story. It's also true that everyone seems to hate Horizon. As a huge fan of the IP myself, I must admit that it feels awfully lonely out here.

No, Sweet Baby Inc. didn't 'extort' Game Science for $7 million to work on Black Myth: Wukong. How do I know? Because even $200 million games don't spend that on consultants. It's an absurd claim. I knew the story was fake the second I saw it. Stop believing everything you read.

Major changes to Xbox's Game Pass prove what we've long said: It doesn't work as-is. Period. A bigger story for our show is Sony stumbling into a superior Game Pass Standard analogue with PS+ Extra that's cheaper, has more and better games, and doesn't sacrifice the core model.

Stellar Blade surpassed a million copies sold on PS5, a great success for Shift Up's provocative action game. And to its detractors: Capcom can sell 2-3 million copies of Street Fighter 6 and Dragon's Dogma 2 on multiple consoles and be a success, but this isn't? If you say so!

I'll be back to posting normal clips soon. With PS5 Pro around the corner, games coming out, and big announcements in the wings, we'll have much to discuss. In the meantime, though, here's a letter from Dustin to the Sacred Symbols audience that he asked me to read on the show.
