On 13th September Jamie Redknapp stated on Sky Sports that I left Tottenham ‘in a mess’ when I sold the club to Daniel Levy. Tonight, during Sky’s Bournemouth v Fulham coverage, Redknapp has made a full apology and has retracted this false allegation. Also, by way of a further apology, a donation of £10,000 has been made to Great Ormond Street Hospital Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity Redknapp said: “I mentioned that Lord Sugar had left the club ‘in a mess’. I just want to make clear that he stabilised the club and invested heavily during his time as chairman. When he took over in 1991 Spurs were close to bankruptcy, and by the time he stepped away the financial position had been turned around. He also put significant money into the team and facilities. I apologise to Lord Sugar and his family for any misunderstanding and for any distress caused, and am happy to set the record straight.”

40 YEARS AGO TODAY - On 7 Apr 1986 I announced that Amstrad had bought, from Sir Clive Sinclair, the worldwide rights to sell and manufacture all existing and future Sinclair computer products, together with Sinclair's intellectual property rights. It was a momentous day for me.

I am back in my old hunting ground if Hong Kong.The last time I was here was 30 odd years ago. I worked it out I have been to HK at least 45 times in the past. I am staying in the Peninsula hotel in the same room I occupied all those years ago. The major changes I have noticed is that the main land Chinese people are the majority here now. The sky line once illuminated with signs of Sony ,Canon,Nikon,Philips and Panasonic are totally dominated by Chinese companies. However it has been great to come back.

As I've always said, #TheApprentice is not just a Reality TV show, it's not even just a regimen of business disciplines and capabilities - it is also life changing and character building. 37 YEARS AGO! Amstrad released the UK’s first mass-produced BSkyB satellite dishes and receivers to pick up the brand new Sky TV broadcasts. This after Rupert Murdoch and I had launched Sky the previous June. Amstrad had 8 months to produce the hardware but we did it on time.

37 YEARS AGO: Amstrad launched the DD8900 Double Decker – suddenly you could tape video tapes! Of course commercial movies were copy-protected, but the machine was a useful tool for copying TV recordings, home video editing, loop record/play and loads of other functions. More info:
