There’s lots written about Palantir work with the #NHS but if you want to understand what it’s actually about, look no further than this animation. The word federated might sound like jargon, but it’s the key - it means every NHS hospital has its own instance of #palantir software. Each individual hospital is in complete control - the hospital decides how the software is used and how to manage the information the hospital holds. #NHS hospitals use Palantir to bring together information from their many different IT systems, so their staff can make better informed decisions about patient care. Because they are using the same kind of software, it’s also secure and simple for them to share information with other hospitals. That might be to get an individual patient treated sooner. Or it might be to support preventative care by enabling an Integrated Care Board to better understand of health trends across a local area. However #NHS hospitals choose to use and share this information, privacy and security are protected by technology honed over the 20 years Palantir has spent supporting many of the world’s most critical organisations to manage their most sensitive data. $PLTR #PLTR

🚨BREAKING 🚨Incredibly proud that the news is out that Palantir has signed a strategic partnership with the MoD worth up to £750million. This agreement will represent a step change in the UK’s defence capability and the future of our defence ecosystem. Palantir will provide the MoD with access to the most advanced AI defence technology, incorporating key elements of the Maven Smart System - the US’s flagship AI programme which was recently acquired by NATO. The results will be transformative. Our Armed Forces will be connected to weapons systems that studies have shown will increase targeting efficiency by 100x, meaning that 20 people can now do work it would have once taken 2,000 to do. That’s a game-changer for the UK and will transform our national defences.

The NHS’s Federated Data Platform (FDP) - which is powered by Palantir - can feel complicated. But if you want a simple explanation of how it is transforming the lives of clinicians and patients, I’d urge you to watch this short video from NHS England. NHS trusts across England use the FDP to pull together data from different IT systems. This helps to improve patient care, while cutting the administrative work for NHS staff. Each year, more than two million people in England navigate the difficult journey of cancer diagnosis, testing and treatment. That’s why we’ve introduced the Cancer 360 tool, built on the #FDP, to speed up this process. It cuts down paper work, tracks progress, prevents delays and helps to create personalised treatment plans - so nothing important gets missed. Without this system, #NHS staff are stuck pulling together information from multiple systems, spreadsheets and emails - taking up valuable time that could be spent on patient care. NEW: Video showing how the NHS Federated Data Platform is providing clinicians and administrators with real-time data to accelerate treatment and improve patient care at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. 📣 “We’re maximising patient safety. We’re maximising the efficiency with which we move patients through the pathways, so they get their treatment as fast as possible without undue delay.” 📣 ”We started off with 12 patients an hour. And now we’ve got people doing 45 patients, which is more than ever. The most important thing for us now is - we actually know how many true waiters we have. We didn’t know that before.” Great to hear such positive feedback from NHS staff on the ground at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

It was great to join Laura Kuenssberg this morning on a very interesting panel discussing high skilled immigration, the role of AI in our economy, and the work Palantir does. As I said in this clip, we are at the early stages of a profound AI revolution that is going to transform every aspect of our lives, and the U.K. has a competitive advantage as the one country, outside of the U.S, with the greatest quantity and quality of high skilled talent needed to do AI well.
