Noted inequality economist Gary Stevenson, whose best selling book The Trading Game beautifully chronicles his triumph and then his disintegration as a trader for Citibank, came by the studio to discuss his ideas for taxing the super wealthy, growing financial and social polarisation, Elon Musk, growing up Mormon in Ilford, clashing with Rory Stewart, clashing with Piers Morgan, clashing with various other people in his new Channel 4 documentary and what in his view the future holds for society. This episode was recorded late July, before Gary’s announcement about possibly stepping back from his YouTube show, though viewers/listeners should get a sense of some of the frustrations that led him to the decision. Boom-boom Becker was his nickname, so-called for his hard-hitting forehand shots. In life he’s had his ups and downs - including a stint in Wandsworth prison.
