Something rather large is coming 👀 I’m not yet allowed to tell you what! But if you enjoy a good story (especially one involving kings, queens, & a few surprises), keep an eye out tomorrow! For now: 👑 If you had to pick one monarch to spend the day with, which one would it be?

Cutest video ever of the new statue of AGATHA CHRISTIE outside Wallingford Museum! The dog won't be convinced she's not alive. Huge thanks to the lovely people who donated to Wallingford Museum, it's much appreciated by Judy the curator, Ned and the other volunteers and me 🙏

It’s not my birthday but it IS a special day! I’ve got a finished BOOK to show off to you, with: - an embarrassing photo of young me - a cheeky image of a playing card - and a very personal dedication

Did you know that the exiled King of France spent five years in rural Buckinghamshire, waiting around for Napoleon to give him his throne back? My favourite birthday treat is going for a night in his luxurious home, which is now a hotel belonging to the National Trust Thank you so much to Hartwell House for gifting me a night's stay! I think the fact I've stayed there often on my own dollar also tells its own story ❤️ #ad Read all about it in my weekly history newsletter, MY LIFE IN THE PAST! 😃

What happened in the royal bedchamber never, ever stayed private! From a ten-year-old's wedding night to Hampton Court’s pornographic graffiti: palace sex was never, ever private. There's a new piece up at my weekly history newsletter, have a read via my link in the next tweet down👇

Which country am I in? (Did you find that easy?!?!?!?) (PS fulfilling every stereotype, one of our shots got ruined by about 30 people suddenly turning up dressed as leprechauns)

For 20 years, I had the best job in the world. I was Chief Curator at Hampton Court ... and now I've written it all down. QUEENS AND KINGS: AN UNUSUALLY PERSONAL HISTORY is a thousand years of monarchy, told from inside the palace. Pre-order now! 👑

What would you leave Mary? I nearly left her some chocolate. But then I thought rats might eat it.

Helllo! I'm historian Lucy Worsley and quite often I have to take an early morning taxi to work at @historicroyalpalaces Kensington Palace. I begin south of the river and take in quite a few London landmarks. If you like this kind of thing, do follow!
