Radical Islamist groups once again attempted to demolish what remains of the Dhanmondi 32 residence, openly waving ISIS flags. When these extremists first attacked the house, Yunus neither took steps to protect it nor ensured that those responsible were held accountable. Instead, he downplayed the mob violence and even blamed Sheikh Hasina, claiming her speeches had provoked the crowd. Now the question is: what led them to return and attempt to destroy the remaining structure? Why did the same group go on to attack the offices of The Daily Star and Prothom Alo? Who instigated these attacks this time? Had Yunus acted decisively from the beginning to curb the violence by these radical Islamists, the attacks on Prothom Alo and The Daily Star last night might never have occurred. What the world has yet to grasp is that this is not about Yunus’s inability to stop these actions, but about his direct complicity in them.

Nazi-style targeted killings and torture began under Yunus’s watch and are still continuing under the BNP regime. On the anniversary of the Awami League, a man over 70 years old was subjected to medieval-style torture by members of the BNP’s student wing in broad daylight. Despite being the victim, he was later taken into police custody, while those accused of carrying out the attack faced no consequences. If participating in a political rally is considered a crime in a democratic country, then the very definition of democracy must be rewritten. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP has embarked on a fascistic form of politics in which party-backed violence and state institutions are being used to suppress dissenting voices. One should not forget that the Awami League is a major political party with millions of activists and supporters. Therefore, the way Awami League leaders and activists are being killed in police custody and subjected to abuse and torture will have repercussions throughout society, and those repercussions could be severe. The reality in Bangladesh is revealed by free-spirited journalist Sahar Zand after visiting the country, in contrast to what the Muhammad Yunus apologists and his gangs of disinformation (all the minions and hired brokers) say about the actual state of affairs in there. Sahar Zand's statement is a smack in the face to all those paid Yunus brokers who blame those who speak out against the violations of human rights on the watch of Yunus, for not knowing the facts and urge people to visit Bangladesh to find out the truth. This is because Sahar Zand visited Bangladesh after August 5th and shared what she discovered there.

Listen to the commentary of this radical Islamist in the attached video. He expresses regret that he was unable to carry out the arson attack on Prothom Alo and The Daily Star offices immediately after 5 August. He claims, with pride, that he and his followers acted in line with what they believe to be Osman Hadi’s guidance. After setting fire to the media houses, they were heading toward Bangabandhu’s residence at Dhanmondi 32 with the intention of destroying what remained. Their actions reflect an extreme worldview that rejects pluralism and seeks to impose its beliefs on society through violence. A free and democratic society cannot flourish under the dominance of such forces. Sheikh Hasina sought to curb such extremism while raising living standards through economic development. However, many Western analysts failed to accurately assess her leadership and intentions.

The newly formed ‘Kings Party’-nicknamed #NCP has outdone even #BNP in extortion! A widely circulated video on social media clearly shows Imamur Rashid Iman, a central member of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), receiving 700,000 taka in cash from a woman. In the video, Iman is heard saying, “We had agreed on 1 million taka with my brother, but you’ve given 700,000.” The victim is a small-scale entrepreneur. NCP leaders allegedly took nearly 4.8 million taka from her over time, promising her work in various government and private projects. However, no work or projects were ever delivered to her. Is this what they call a “new kind of politics”? Or is it just an upgraded version of old-school extortion-based politics? This incident makes it clear: the NCP is simply walking the same deceitful path under a new political disguise. And it is with the hopes, dreams, and hard-earned money of ordinary citizens that this empire of extortion is being built.

Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam stated that not only freedom of expression but the very right to life is under threat in the current situation. In a separate interview, New Age editor Nurul Kabir alleged that elements within—or possibly the entirety of—the Yunus government allowed the arson attacks on the offices of The Daily Star and Prothom Alo to take place. As the Information and Broadcasting Minister in Sheikh Hasina’s cabinet, I strongly condemn these assaults on the media and stand in full solidarity with those affected. Take a look at how the common people were treated on August 15th as they went to honor and grieve for Bangabandhu, the man who founded Bangladesh. A great degree of human rights abuses occurred under the watch of Prof. Yunus and his interim government. BNP-Jamaat hoodlums-goons have been unleashed under the pretext of "students & general people” who set fire to the residence of Bangabandhu, where he was assassinated back in 1975, and now they prevented every soul by attacking them to go there. A complete lawlessness situation and thuggery are going on. #Attack on #Freedom

The Awami League government never obstructed BNP activists going to pay tribute to General Zia’s grave. Never obstructed any peaceful gathering or peaceful protest. Only when a protest starts getting violent, roads are blocked, and attacks are coming from the protesters do the law enforcement agencies act in self-defense and to defuse tension to protect peace. Having said that, I don’t want to claim that the law enforcement members never behaved unlawfully on the ground, etc., but they were never instructed to do so. But we were always blamed for not honoring the right to assembly, protest, etc. Even if I accept all the blames to be true for the arguments sake, what had happened today was unprecedented; something like this never happened during AL’s last 15 and a half years. The goons intimidated, suppressed, and assaulted the people who were going to Dhanmomdi 32 for doing no protest, for making no demand to the government, and for no violence from their side. They were going just to mourn and show tribute to Bangabandhu. The goons under the cover of ‘students & people’ were unleashed to attack and harass Awami League activists and many general people around the area of Dhanmomdi 32. #Attack on #Freedom

One of the allegations surrounding the "Students Protests" against our government was that bullets were fired from RAB helicopters, which resulted in the death of children in their home. It is true that few children were indeed killed in their home. Subsequently our government was blamed for ordering RAB to shoot from a helicopter, which resulted in the tragic death. The people of the country naturally became angry at our government for the death of the children. Although we had been saying from the outset that the government issued no such order to RAB. Many did not believe us back then. Now, the real story is coming to light gradually. Following investigations carried out under the #Yunus Administration, RAB has confirmed that no bullets were fired from their helicopter. Only sound grenades and tear shells were used. (Video 1). Another investigative report from DBC News Channel clearly showed that at the time the child was shot, no helicopters were flying in proximity. The family of the deceased child also confirmed that they heard no sounds of flying helicopters during the incident (Videos 2 and 3). But it is undeniable that innocent children were shot and killed. So, who fired the bullet? Who shot a child in his/her home to rile up the people against our government? It is, therefore, essential to have a credible, impartial, and independent investigation into this incident. The families of the innocent child shot down deserve proper justice.

There was no intention to protest or demand anything from the government; people were only going for a peaceful presence to mourn and to pay tribute to Bangabandhu. Not only the Awami League activists but also many general people of Bangladesh were going to Dhanmondi 32, yet the autocratic government and their goons in the name of ‘Chhatra-Janata’ did not allow that to happen. More than 500 people were beaten to severe injuries. Stop calling the goons the ‘Chhatra-Janata’ (students & mass); they are not representing the people of Bangladesh; they are a section of students who are political activists and now turned into Hoodlums and goons.

#Bangladesh #AwamiLeague is not a banned organization. It is the oldest and largest political party in the country. This party led the nation to independence. It has the right to hold peaceful political programmes not only under the #constitution but also under int'l #humanrights laws, including the #UDHR and the #ICCPR. Additionally, no “state of emergency” currently prevails in Bangladesh. Therefore, activists of the party were fully within their constitutional, democratic, and legal rights to organize a peaceful procession to commemorate “Martyr #NurHossain Day”. The unelected interim regime led by Dr. #Yunus is happy to allow all other parties and orgs to hold political programmes almost on a daily basis, incl. #BNP, #Jamaat, and the SAD Movement. It is also providing full assistance to #Islamist orgs like #HefazateIslam and Islami Andolon in organizing programmes. Their issue only seems to be with the Awami League and its allies. The very definition of #discrimination. Pursuant to that policy, the Yunus regime publicly announced their intention to obstruct the AL from exercising its right to organise a peaceful procession on Nov 10. The unequivocal intentions were expressed by the so-called Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam (1) and Adviser Asif Mahmud (2). Both warned of strict action of law enforcement agencies against AL. (1) (2) To obstruct a legitimate and peaceful political programme by a legitimate political party, the regime deployed the police, the army and an unprecedented 191 platoons of border guards (3). The street-enforcers of Yunus’ regime, the SAD, also announced a counter political programme at the same venue just hours before where AL activists were supposed to congregate for the procession, with a clear intent to provoke a confrontation (4). The fact that the SAD Movement had violent intentions is clear from social media posts of people associated with the platform (5). (3) (4) (5) Screenshots & Video clip From the morning of Nov 10, SAD-backed thugs, with full support from BNP and Jamaat armed cadres, took positions in various key points of #Dhaka to violently obstruct AL activists and supporters from reaching the venue. They beat up around 10 people in, or around, the Gulistan area in Dhaka, including two #women. At least 43 activists and supporters of the party were arrested from Motijheel, Dilkusha, and Paltan areas (6). People were beaten up, including senior citizens and women, and handed over to the police simply for chanting the slogan “#JoyBangla”, or even on mere suspicions of being an AL supporter (7). SAD-linked students, BNP-Jamaat cadres, and the police even checked people’s mobile phones on Nov 10 (8) and the night before (9) to “identify” AL supporters and activists. (6) (7) (8) (9) AL activists celebrating the re-election of Donald J. Trump and planning to join the procession with placards and posters were also targeted specifically. The night before Nov 10, joint forces conducted raids in various areas of #Dhaka and arrested at least 10 supporters with Trump placards and U.S. flags (10). There is nothing in the law of Bangladesh which bars celebrating the election win of another country’s leader. In fact, the Yunus regime was happy to allow campaign rallies in support of Kamala Harris just a few days back (11). (10) (11) By acting as they did, the Yunus regime committed multiple violations of the constitutional and human rights of AL activists and supporters, namely, their rights to freedom of movement, expression, association, and privacy. The unelected and unconstitutional #Yunus regime has miserably failed in its test of respecting democratic values too.

According to the military, they were forced to open fire in self-defense on July 16, 2025 at Gopalganj, which resulted in five fatalities and numerous injuries. BBC News BBC News Bangla camera footage, however, makes it clear that when the military opened fire, no one was in the immediate vicinity of them posing a threat. The #Yunus media is lying again by referring to the assailants of the Dhanmondi 32 house as "protesters" or "students and general masses." If they were "students and general masses”, then why did they raise the ISIS type flags as a sign of their Islamist victory and yell "Allahu Akbar" with triumph as they destroyed the historic landmark at Dhanmondi 32 in Bangladesh? The answer is very simple: those who demolished the Dhanmondi 32 residence did so because they harbored grudges against it, and the reasons for their grudges are that it represented everything contrary to what these Islamists believe. One should not fall into the false impression that their animosities toward this house were newly formed, as they were not. This house has been hated for generations by all Islamists who have resisted Bangladesh's liberation, especially Jamaat-e-Islami. To put this in perspective, Bangladesh was fighting for its independence in order to become a secular nation, which was in opposition to the Islamists' ideology. As a result, all Islamists, including Jamaat-e-Islami, opposed Bangladesh's liberation, collaborated with the Pakistani army, and committed genocide in an attempt to thwart Bangladesh's independence, but they were unsuccessful. Regretfully, a lot of people are unaware that Bangladesh has a distinct political split when it comes to secularism. The reality is that this house represents secular and democratic politics rather than radical politics based on religion; as a result, Islamists have hated it all along. The entire Islamic political groups—Islamists, jihadists, and terrorists—have legitimate grievances against this house because it symbolizes the Bengali people's long-standing struggle for their democratic rights, rebellion against the oppression of Pakistani military dictators, secular and modern politics, and Bangladesh's very independence; therefore, as a sign of their Islamist victory, they chanted "Allahu Akbar" and raised the ISIS type flags after demolishing the house.

The country is steadily heading toward full-scale radicalism under Yunus’s leadership. In Mymensingh’s Bhaluka upazila, a young Hindu man named Dipu Chandra Das (30) was killed in a mob beating following allegations that he made derogatory remarks about Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). After his death, his body was set on fire by the Islamists. The incident occurred on Thursday night (18 December) at around 9:00 pm at the Pioneer Knit Composite factory, adjacent to Dubaliapara in the Square Masterbari area of the upazila. Dipu Chandra Das was a worker at the factory. He was a resident of Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh, and his father’s name was Rabi Chandra Das. According to local sources and eyewitnesses, allegations were raised that Dipu had made offensive comments about Islam and the Prophet (PBUH). At one point, the radial Islamists assaulted him, leaving him critically injured. Eyewitnesses said he died at the scene. The agitated mob of the radicals then took the body to the Square Masterbari bus stand area, tied it to a tree with a rope, and continued to strike it while chanting slogans of “Nara-e-Takbir” and “Allahu Akbar,” before setting it on fire. Later, the protesters carried the body onto the Dhaka–Mymensingh highway and set it on fire again. Not only the offices of The Daily Star and Prothom Alo, but also the premises of leading Bangladeshi cultural institutions such as “Chhayanaut” and “Udichi Shilpigoshthi” were attacked in Dhaka by violent supporters of Osman Hadi. The attackers were largely drawn from radical Islamist groups. To understand Bangladesh’s political dynamics, it is crucial to examine why these particular cultural institutions were targeted and to analyze the motivations and social profiles of those involved in the attacks. While vandalizing Chhayanaut, the miscreants were chanting “Naray-e-Takbeer, Allahu Akbar.” Doesn’t this carry any significance? Radical Islamists appear to be celebrating what they perceive as a victory over symbols of Bengali culture, the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War, and secular values. These are the same groups that effectively mounted a sustained confrontation against the Awami League government during July–August 2024. The depth of their hostility toward the Awami League requires serious analysis—whether it stems solely from the party’s fifteen years in power or from deeper ideological and political factors. Unfortunately, many self-styled experts offer only superficial explanations, avoiding a deeper engagement with the underlying realities. The attack on Chhayanaut and Udichi Shilpigoshthi is neither random nor simple vandalism; it represents a deliberate political assault on the foundations of Bangladesh’s Liberation War and its secular values. Chhayanaut emerged as cultural resistance against Pakistan’s erasure of Bengali identity and played a vital role in 1971, inspiring fighters and mobilizing global support. Attacking it means attacking that history. Today, under the cover of “anti-India” rhetoric, fundamentalist forces are targeting the pillars of our secular, Liberation War–based identity. Exploiting public emotion, this was a calculated act—not spontaneous anger. Defending Chhayanaut is defending Bengali culture, the spirit of 1971, secular values and the ideals of an independent Bangladesh. #BangladeshCrisis

Today, July 18, 2025, Islamists demonstrate in Bangladesh while waiving ISIS flags and chanting, "Who are you? Who am I? "Jongi," "Jongi!" The Bengali term "Jongi" refers to terrorists or jihadists. This gathering, especially following Friday prayers at the national mosque, shows that under Muhammad Yunus's interim government, extremism is significantly increasing in Bangladesh and could "slide into Afghanistan." This concern is only heightened by the emergence of radical ideas and Yunus's willful efforts to undermine counterterrorism efforts. In Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus is orchestrating radicalized "students" into militia-like groups, serving as Yunus’s extra-legal Gestapo force—even wielding unchecked power over police and law enforcement agencies. Under Yunus, Bangladesh is spiraling into dictatorship, and an Islamofascist militia is clearly growing. Bangladesh is quickly turning into a totalitarian state, where extremist Islamist student organizations are allowed to crush political opposition of Yunus. Caught on Video! Under Muhammad Yunus’s so-called "Operation Devil Hunt," PUSAB operatives were filmed raiding homes & arresting fellow students—political opponents—without any legal authority! These self-styled enforcers brazenly recorded & posted their illegal activities on Facebook! This is not an isolated incident—it’s a pattern! Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh’s regime has already arrested over 4,000 political dissidents under the guise of this so-called "Operation Devil Hunt." What a disgrace that a Nobel Peace Laureate, Muhammad Yunus, is now the face of authoritarian terror!
