They are not there to explain the law—they’re there to entertain an audience that rewards them with Super Chats, memberships, and donations. So they give their viewers exactly what they want to hear, even if that means misrepresenting the law, making false statements and inaccurate legal claims, defending the indefensible, or excusing and even encouraging the harassment and intimidation of witnesses. The damage this does is enormous. It destroys public trust in the justice system, distorts how people understand the courts, and misleads viewers about the rights of victims, witnesses, and defendants alike. When lawyers stop acting like lawyers and start acting like performers, the justice system becomes just another form of entertainment. This can’t be the future.

The amount of loss this family has endured is almost impossible to comprehend. What kind of person talks about a grieving mother like this? And what kind of people continue to cheer him on?
