The Ravens flew in and got straight down to canoodling this morning before they had any breakfast! I was thinking, as I was sat with them, that if someone offered me a million pounds to not have the Ravens any more I wouldn’t take it. They are priceless to me 🥰

Today is the 2 year anniversary of when I met the Ravens. They just checked me out from a distance then! Here is some of my fav footage:them courting, feeding each other, barrel rolling, some of their vocalisations. They are the most amazing birds and I am so lucky to have them!

Just when I thought the Ravens couldn’t get any better they prove me wrong! Sat with them for 10 mins this morn & after they had their suet they decided to relax & groom, then they did this. This clacking of the beak is what Chips often does at me! They are so adorable 🥰 #Ravens

Some soothing Raven grooming to start your day. It’s an interesting discussion as to whether I am anthropomorphising the Ravens when I say they are my friends & just come to hang out, but that is my experience. Yesterday afternoon they ignored any food just wanted to sit & bond.

Despite being privileged that the Ravens choose to spend a small part of their day with me, I realise that lots of their behaviour is a mystery to me! Today they suddenly both called & flew off into the distance, then they came separately each doing different vocalisations.

I am so moved by the Ravens: their obvious affection for one another, how they raise a family, how they just soar & tumble having fun. I am biased but I can’t think of another species of bird so complex & interesting! Listen to their little chortles. How can you not love them! 😁

Think that my experience with the Ravens today shows that there is an element of companionship in our relationship. They’ve followed me on my walk often ignoring food, hoping behind me & when I sit they relax, groom together & talk to me. I am never going to get home! #ravens

The juvenile Ravens can quite easily eat for themselves now but they still try their luck with the adults. It’s interesting how they all have different personalities. Some are shy, some braver and one is very noisy and demanding 😆

I think we can safely say that the Ravens are breeding 😁 I was just sat quietly with them when they started grooming and then they did this. A bit of a long video and I cut off the bit where they mated as I wasn’t sure about posting it!

Today’s Raven news! They came& found me 3 times on my walk. Mainly they follow me flying but I love how sometimes they follow me as I walk hoping along. There is something adorable about a Raven’s walk ☺️ They had a little mutual groom today but spent a lot of time caching food.

second Raven post today because this little fledgling is just so adorable. It is the one that comes the closest with Chips and Gravy and is also the most noisy and demanding. It’s a shame he can’t stay with them as he/she is going to be such a character 😁

I am truly blessed! Just now I sat on the water trough & scattered some suet & sat & relaxed. Couldn’t believe it when both Ravens jumped on the trough with me & had a drink! Then Chips fed Gravy just a few feet away from me. Has to be one of the best experiences of my life 😊
