This joke completely flew over my head as a kid. Watching it as an adult, you finally realize Woody is desperately trying not to call Buzz Lightyear something a lot less polite than “toy.”

“Well, somebody better be dying!” “I’m dying.” That exchange is one of the funniest examples of how Shrek the Third uses timing to land a joke.

I love how Charlotte “Lottie” La Bouff rejected Travis. She was blunt and harsh, but not mean-spirited. She was being genuine and honest.

During the confrontation, Woody could’ve pointed out one key detail: Daisy didn’t replace Lotso, her parents did. But knowing Lotso, it probably wouldn’t have mattered. By that point, he was too consumed by bitterness to listen or care.

The saddest thing about Despicable Me 4 is that the ending is easily the best part of the movie. When the strongest moment comes in the final minutes, you can’t help but wish the rest of the film had been on that level.
