Tonight was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. One second, we were all sitting down to our first course at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and the next we heard several shots ring out in the ballroom. Guests were screaming and there was immediate commotion as they ducked beneath tables. There was the sound of shouting and breaking glass as Secret Service rushed across tabletops. The President and cabinet members were evacuated and guests are currently still holding in the Hilton.
