Will be leaving for Baku tomorrow Insha’Allah on a three day state visit to participate in the World Urban Forum. It will be a singular honour to present Punjab’s flagship sustainable urban affordable housing initiative, “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar,” at the Pakistan Pavilion at the World Urban Forum in Baku. Alhamdulillah, out of 160,000 houses under construction, 100,000 have been completed with families moving into their own new homes in less than a year Alhamdulillah. The Pakistan Pavilion will showcase a case study, Punjab’s people centric model of inclusive urban development, affordable housing, and sustainable communities for low-income families. During the visit, I will also have the honour of meeting the President of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and partnerships in urban development, climate resilience, tourism, and investment. Glimpses from the making of the Pakistan Pavilion of “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” at the Baku Olympic Pavilion.

Alhamdolillah, a major tragedy was averted today at Indigo Tower, Gulberg. Upon receiving reports of a fire in the basement, the Emergency Response Team was immediately mobilised. Minister Energy Faisal Khokhar, Commissioner, DC and all concerned officials are present on site to oversee the operation. The explosion of the air-conditioning system boiler was severe; however, due to the swift, professional and heroic response of Rescue 1122 and the Fire Brigade, the fire was brought under control with zero casualties. It is reassuring to note that the newly installed fire hydrants were fully functional and freshly implemented SOPs were in place which played a critical role in containing the incident. Strict directives have been issued: All commercial boiler and cylinder installations across Punjab must fully comply with safety standards. Any premises found compromising public safety will be sealed immediately, without exception.

An incident of infant kidnapping from the Children Hospital, Faisalabad was reported at 10:47 a.m. The Safe City Surveillance Team acted immediately and, using the integrated camera network of hospitals and Safe Cities, successfully traced the female culprit along with the abducted infant within five minutes. This integration was implemented on my instructions just a few days ago, and today it proved its value in real time. The infant has been safely recovered and reunited with the parents. Alhamdulillah.

First ever: To ensure the provision of clean drinking water to the people of South Punjab, a comprehensive project is being implemented at an unprecedented pace. Under this initiative: 🔹10 overhead reservoirs and 138 water centers are being established in Bahawalpur. 🔹12 overhead reservoirs and 256 water centers are being established in Rahim Yar Khan. 🔹7 overhead reservoirs and 100 water centers are being established in Rajanpur. The project, which began in March 2026, is scheduled for completion by September 2026. Once completed, these 29 reservoirs and 494 water centers will treat saline groundwater through modern filtration plants and supply clean drinking water directly to people's homes. InshaAllah!

اللہ تعالیٰ کے فضل سے پنجاب کی تاریخ کا سب سے بڑا غریب پرور زرعی منصوبہ " اپنا کھیت اپنا روزگار" کامیابی سے ہمکنار ہو گیا ہے۔ پنجاب کی1 لاکھ 21 ہزار ایکڑ قابلِ کاشت سرکاری اراضی 30000 نادار خاندانوں کو محض 100 روپے سالانہ کی علامتی لیز پر 20 سال کے لیے تفویض کر دی گئی ہے۔ سو فیصد میرٹ پر کمپیوٹرائزڈ بیلٹنگ کے ذریعے ضرورت مند طبقے کو نہ صرف اراضی کا مالکانہ اختیار دیا گیا ہے بلکہ زمین کی تیاری کے لیے 50 ہزار روپے فی ایکڑ مالی امداد اور جدید فنی معاونت بھی فراہم کی جا رہی ہے۔ تھل سے پوٹھوہار تک پھیلی اس سکیم میں 20 فیصد کوٹہ خواتین کا رکھا گیا ہے تاکہ ہماری مائیں اور بہنیں بھی معاشی طور پر بااختیار بن سکیں۔ انشاءاللہ اب محنت بھی کسان کی ہوگی اور پورا منافع بھی اسی کا ہوگا، عزتِ نفس کے ساتھ۔ جیہڑا واہے، اوہ ہی کھائے !
