At just 15 years of age, Cara Darmody finishes her third 50-hour protest outside Leinster House. Cara is standing up for the more than 21,000 children waiting beyond the legal deadline for an Assessment of Need, calling for the recruitment of the psychologists and therapists needed to end these unacceptable delays. It's time to deliver timely Assessments of Need and give every child the fair start they deserve.

🇵🇸 All eyes on the flotilla! I just spoke to Senator Chris Andrews. The flotilla is now 45 nautical miles from Gaza and is faced by 12-14 Israeli warships. Some boats have already been intercepted. This is a moment of huge danger. The Irish government must speak out. Irish citizens and all the activists on board must be given safe passage.

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are making a complete shambles of things. The decision to exclude people from talks yesterday was disrespectful and arrogant. They need to pick up the phone, engage with protesters and focus on resolving the crisis by bringing fuel prices down quickly. No half measures.

The vicious knife attack in north Belfast was depraved. I commend those who acted with courage and selflessness to save the victim’s life. The perpetrator must face the full weight of the law. The racist violence of masked Loyalists who burned families out of their homes echoes the pogroms against nationalist families in 1969. These are the same people who will burn tricolours on bonfires in July. I stand in solidarity with Belfast Mayor Róis-Máire Donnelly. Those responsible for these threats and attacks will not succeed. Decisions on migration should be taken in Ireland. Fianna Fáil-Fine Gael opting Ireland into the EU Migration Pact is wrong. It undermines Irish sovereignty, hands power on migration over to Brussels and won’t fix the serious problems that this government has created.

How on earth does a ten year old child go missing from state care and how is it that a man issued with a deportation order was still here six months later. The public are asking serious questions and they need serious answers.

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael need to meet with the agricultural contractors, farmers and hauliers who are out on protest due to rising fuel prices which have people under huge pressure. Sneers and threats from government need to stop. If the government had listened to Sinn Féin weeks ago, all of this would have been avoided. Their half measure were never going to work. Prices are too high, way beyond what people can afford. We need prices to come down. The Dáil should be sitting to pass the emergency measures needed.

Our job is to continue fighting hard for working people, for families, for communities. To get Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael out of government asap and to deliver a new government for the people.
