On the anniversary of the notorious Anfal genocide campaign in Badinan, we remember all the victims of this inhuman crime. During the final stage of this campaign of genocide, the former Iraqi regime killed and abducted thousands of innocent people from the different communities of the Badinan region and destroyed hundreds of villages, resulting in the displacement of tens of thousands of people. We once again call on the federal government of Iraq to compensate the families of all victims of the Anfal genocide, the chemical attacks, and all those who fell victim to the former regime. The KRG reaffirms its commitment to continue to support the families of the martyrs and Anfal victims. May the souls of the victims of the Anfal genocide and all the martyrs of Kurdistan rest in eternal peace.

Today, we honored the memory of the victims of the Ezidi Genocide and reaffirmed that their suffering will never be forgotten. Twelve years after the Genocide, the resilience of our Ezidi sisters and brothers remains a source of strength and pride for all of Kurdistan. We remember the hundreds of Peshmerga who lost their lives to liberate and protect Sinjar. We will also continue doing everything we can to support survivors, find and rescue those who are still missing, and help displaced Ezidis return safely and with dignity to their homes.

I am proud to lay the foundation stone for the Barzani Grand Mosque in Erbil. The mosque will be built entirely by local expertise and workforce, and it will become the largest landmark of its kind at two million square meters. Throughout Kurdistan’s history, mosques have served as centers of learning and leadership. We hope this mosque will also become a major center for faith, spiritual enlightenment, knowledge, and service to the homeland.

Today is the 43rd anniversary of the genocide of thousands of innocent Barzanis, one of the most heinous crimes committed by the former Iraqi regime. The people of Kurdistan will never forget these atrocities, we remember the sacrifices made in pursuit of our legitimate rights. We will never give up our national achievements, and we will continue to defend them in every way. Once again, we call on the federal government to fulfill its constitutional duty and moral responsibility to compensate the families of the victims of the acts of genocide, the Anfal campaign, and the families of every victim of the brutal former Iraqi regime. I salute all the martyrs and victims of genocide in Kurdistan.

Today we opened the Hanging Gardens of Babylon Park in Ankawa district. Ankawa has always been a symbol of coexistence, and we hope this park will become a place for everyone to enjoy time together. I am happy to see our homeland developing day by day. Together, we will try to create a more prosperous Kurdistan for our people and our visitors.

Today, we inaugurated a strategic water project serving 53 villages across Mergasor, Akre, and Khalifan districts, securing the region’s water supply for the next 20 years. We will continue implementing projects like this and work to deliver essential services to every part of the Kurdistan Region.

Today marks the 46th anniversary of the Genocide of the Feyli Kurds, in which thousands of Feyli Kurds were killed, disappeared and displaced by the former Ba'athist regime. Once again, we remind the federal government of its moral, legal and constitutional responsibility to provide reparations to the victims of the Genocide of the Feyli Kurds, the chemical weapons attacks, the Anfal Genocide and all the victims of the former Iraqi regime. On this somber occasion, we pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs of the Genocide of the Feyli Kurds and all the martyrs of Kurdistan.

Kurdistan will remain the land of coexistence in the region. Today in Erbil, I opened the new Um Al-Noor Church and laid the foundation stone for the Al-Azhar Institute for Islamic studies. I also congratulated graduates of the Islamic Institute of Imams and Preachers.
