A new bill wants taxpayers to fund direct cash assistance and for noncitizens. When asked how long someone must live here to qualify, Rep. Cabral wouldn't give a straight answer because there is no residency requirement. How long before MA becomes a migrant magnet again?

Days after Governor Healey celebrated foreign hydro power, New England hit its first winter storm. During that storm, hydro delivered just 4% of our power and emergency oil generation surged to over 40%. Massachusetts need affordable, reliable power, not press releases.

During this weeks Senate budget debate, State Senator Patricia Jehlen called Massachusetts’ new $63.4 BILLION state budget an "austerity budget." Let that sink in. The budget grew roughly 4% over last year and nearly 60% over the last decade, yet Beacon Hill politicians still act like government is being starved of resources. Included in the budget were more taxpayer-funded earmarks, expanded rental assistance spending, funding for advocacy organizations, and amendments weakening oversight requirements for public benefits. Meanwhile, taxpayers are struggling with out of control housing costs, ever increasing energy bills, and local tax overrides because of Beacon Hill's chronic underfunding of local aid to cities and towns. Record spending. Out-of-touch politicians. And priorities that couldn’t be more misplaced.

UPDATE: Mass Fiscal tracked down Governor Healey to ask why she no showed a recent hearing to defend her local tax hike bill. Taxpayers deserve answers to why she wants to let cities and towns raise your meals and hotel taxes, and triple your auto excise tax, all while state spending keeps ballooning. #mapoli #Massachusetts #taxes #boston #fallriver #NewBedford #Brockton #lowell #worcester #haverhill #Lawrence

Governor Healey just delayed the Clean Heat Standard until after the 2026 election. Independent analysis shows it will raise home heating costs $255–$425 per year. If this policy is affordable & necessary, why keep voters from seeing the bill before Election Day?

65% of Lunenburg voters just said NO to tax override hikes. Before the vote even happened, the current Lunenburg Select Board Chair was already thinking about how many revotes they could squeeze in if things didn’t go her way. We tried to ask her about this. She ignored our reporter. How many times do taxpayers have to say no before it counts?

She stopped the pipelines. Then she didn't stop the pipelines. Now, in an interview with NBC Boston, Governor Healey says she did stop the two natural gas pipelines because "they were a lousy deal for ratepayers." However, according to this 2022 clip from a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission forum (AG Healey's office was represented by Rebecca Tepper at this forum), the pipeline deal that AG Healey stopped would have saved ratepayers $2,800,000,000 from 2018 to September of 2022. #Massachusetts #energy #mapoli

Sen. Cynthia Friedman says it's too expensive for people here illegally to obtain legal status, so taxpayers should cover the cost of lawyers to help them apply. But that raises a bigger question. If someone can't afford to become legal, how are they affording housing, food, and healthcare in one of the most expensive states in the country? And if they’re not, who is paying for that? Hint: it's taxpayers. Beacon Hill’s answers to everything is to shift more costs onto taxpayers, without addressing the long-term impact of their policies. Massachusetts taxpayers are already stretched thin. How much more can they be expected to carry?

MIT’s Jonathan Gruber, who has called voters “too stupid,” says cutting the income tax will cost lives. Eastern Bank CEO Bob Rivers, who makes $4.2M/year, says it won't help. These are the out-of-touch elites who showed up to oppose the income tax reduction question.

MassDOT handed a 35-year contract to manage the state's highway rest stops a foreign company over a local business that bid 💵 $500 million more. 🕵️♂️ Closed-door process 📉 Lower revenue 🚫 Disregarded local options This is what broken governance looks like. #mapoli

The Applegreen contract collapsed, Monica Tibbits-Nutt is gone and an investigatory letter will soon be on the way from the Inspector General. Will there finally be transparency and accountability for the taxpayers of the Commonwealth regarding the MassDOT Service Plaza fiasco??? #Massachusetts #mapoli #Corruption #fbreels #fypシ

We caught up with AG Andrea Campbell to ask her why she opposes enforcing the audit law against the Legislature. As she refused to enforce the audit this year, the Legislature increased funding to her office by 12%. Can you think of a greater example of a quid pro quo?

Brockton Senator Michael Brady, who surrendered his driver’s license after multiple DUI charges, just voted to limit how many miles you can drive! This is the same top down mandate mindset that has already driven up utility costs across MA. He probably won't notice though!

Secretary Tepper is celebrating her discounted heat-pump rate, even though her household earns over $425K and she owns a $1.5M home. Working families who can’t afford to install heat pumps are paying higher bills to subsidize it. That’s the Net Zero mandate in action.

When former Boston Bruin 🏒 Brad Marchand hit free agency, fans hoped for a reunion. Instead, he signed in a no-income-tax state 💸. With the MA millionaires tax, Boston teams are now at a huge disadvantage in attracting big-name talent when compared to no and low tax states.

Maura Healey’s approval rating is sinking fast 📉 — down 5 points since March. Almost half of independents say she doesn’t deserve another term🗳️. After billions on illegal migrants 💸, soaring utility bills⚡, housing costs🏠, & even a candy tax🍬… it’s no surprise. #mapoli

People are paying $800 to heat their apartments because Gov. Healey blocked pipelines and pushed Net Zero policies. It's not too late for the Governor to fix the problem she created! It’s time to build new pipelines and repeal the Net Zero mandate to restore affordable energy.
