🚨 Scandalous 🚨 Nearly 90% of the plastic collected under the Deposit Return Scheme is shipped out of Ireland despite there being a company in Monaghan that’s able to recycle it. This is ludicrous for what’s supposed to be an environmental scheme. This must be addressed!

The Justice Minister has confirmed that trainee Gardaí, due to be attested next wk, won’t be able to start work. Because their Garda vetting hasn’t been completed! Now, I’m told that another trainee was sacked just 10 days before being attested because they FAILED Garda vetting!

The law currently allows for the accused in a rape trial to demand the counselling notes of the victim and to use them in court. As chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Home Affairs & Migration I will be working with other representatives to bring this to an end.

On this day in 1975 Dublin airport was bombed by loyalists, likely in collusion with British state forces. It was almost immediately forgotten. Now the family of John Hayes are campaigning for truth & justice. I recently discussed this issue with Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly.
