The Nationals have just introduced legislation to protect women’s rights. My Nationals colleague Alison Penfold introduced a bill this morning to define a biological female into the Sex Discrimination Act. This would let women protect their own spaces, sports and activities. It would stop us getting ridiculous court decisions like we saw in the Tickle v Giggle case. The Nationals will always defend women's rights.

Last night, the One Nation candidate in Farrer said that the current number of migrants is "probably not" too many. Will One Nation really make our border stronger then? It has been revealed in the past week that the One Nation candidate tried to run for Labor and Anthony Albanese in 2022 and donated to a teal backed candidate last year. Our eSafety Commissioner has lost multiple court cases which reveal that she has been acting beyond the boundaries that the Parliament set for her. Our country is doing it tough. Our living standards have gone back a decade, energy prices are out of control and we can't even guarantee fuel supplies. That's the bad news. t The good news is that we have everything we need to revive Australia here in Australia. We have the resources, the people and the land. We don't need to import anything from anywhere. We must manifest a HYPER Australia with more Australian farming, more Australian mining, more Australian manufacturing and more Australian jobs. More Australian everything. The Nationals are patriots and under my leadership we will fight every day to use our resources to improve the lives of Australians first.

Tonight Labor passed a bill to subsidise the importation of oil from overseas. Because of Labor's war on fossil fuels, AUSTRALIAN taxes are being used to support OVERSEAS production and jobs. Labor refused to support our amendments to support the production of DOMESTIC oil and gas jobs. Why is Labor using our taxes to support overseas jobs but not Australian jobs?

I gave this speech 5 years ago calling on us to drill baby drill so that we could be self sufficient in oil production. Labor has instead put carbon taxes on our oil production and wasted billions on hydrogen projects that have produced nothing but hot air. We should have been drilling 5 years ago but as the old saying goes, the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is today.

Today Michelle Landry and I shopped like it was 2022 and it was quite the shock! We used old supermarket catalogues to buy a trolley of items that cost $132 in 2022 before Anthony Albanese was PM. Today the same trolley cost $215! I don't know how families are surviving. The extra costs are a consequence of the PM failing to do what he said he would and cut your power bill by $275. Higher electricity prices make it more expensive to produce everything and that makes everything more expensive. With voting opening tomorrow we need a change of government to the LNP. We will keep our gas for Australians first and build low cost nuclear power stations that will make groceries cheaper. We can't afford 3 more years of Labor!

Our energy regulator has no answer for why we are paying three times higher power prices than the US. It is a national disgrace that with very similar energy resources the US now is now taking our manufacturing jobs because we have shut coal and gas plant, and we will not build nuclear power.

Enjoy Tax Freedom Day this week! So far, on average, you have worked the first 4 months of this year to pay taxes to the Government. Taxes have now risen to about a third of the economy under Labor. Under Labor, Tax Freedom Day has been getting later and later. Taxes are up $26,000 per Australian household per year since COVID. Now Labor wants more taxes. Labor wants a tax on property (removing negative gearing), Labor wants a tax on investment (increasing tax on capital gains) and a tax on small businesses (taxing the trusts that so many use). Enough with more Labor taxes that just make you work more for them.

Yesterday I was in the great town of Narrandera and they showed me the shocking water quality that comes out of their tap. Today, Michael McCormack and I took the water to Canberra and challenged the press whether they would drink this water. How is that we have spent $13 billion on the Murray-Darling Basin Plan but we can't deliver clean drinking water to the towns of the Murray-Darling? This is totally unacceptable. I will be working with the Nationals candidate for Farrer, Brad Robertson, to fix this shocking outcome.

I am running for Nats leader to end the tyranny of groupthink. We should not let the speech police stop us from ending crazy goals like net zero. Australia is in decline because no one is permitted to question whether we should do things differently. Did you know that the government wants to charge you for the solar power that you don't use? This "sun tax" will charge you 1.2 cents per every kilowatt hour of energy your solar panels generate that you do not use. Last year, Zac Brown, the head of the McLaren F1 team, reckoned I was "uneducated and uninformed" for questioning whether his team were biased against Oscar Piastri. Who thinks we need an Aussie F1 team too? 🇦🇺
