Roguelite metaprogression is overdone and makes every subsequent run easier. It always feels like a crutch that rewards losing over skill progression. Ichorous will have permanent unlocks, but they will be discovering new items and optional challenge runs, never flat buffs.

Why are so many 2D roguelikes structured like bullet hells or vampire survivors?? Long-ranged enemies are great, and so are fodder enemies! But I've had my fix. Ichorous is more about direct encounters with a main threat and a few supporting creatures!
