Gedleyihlekisa went to go meet with the Guptas who are fugitives of the law in South Africa. Spitting in the face of our law enforcement agencies. Instead of partying up a storm with runaway criminals, Jacob Zuma should inform the government where are these people who almost collapsed and captured our state.

[WATCH] We can’t have people in our country who are undocumented. The issue of illegal immigration is an issue for many countries around the world it’s not unique to South Africa. The crisis in neighbouring countries has affected our borders hence we experience an influx of undocumented immigrants. To this end, we have heard the legitimate cries of our people against the various social and economic challenges associated with illegal immigration. However, we have always emphasised that vigilantism is a dangerous terrain, which creates anarchy and undermines the rule of law. Enforcement of the law is the responsibility of the democratic State. It cannot be outsourced to private groupings who want to take the law into their own hands, often driven by the desire of some individuals to hijack the genuine concerns of our people for political expediency. The anxieties of South Africans are real and legitimate

WATCH] On behalf of the African National Congress, I want to state that we a country of over 60 million. There are many people who come to our country and many come to our country to contribute to the wealth of our country and its progress. Many contribute positively in our country. There are people in our country who have taken it upon themselves to do things which the vast majority do not condone and this must not paint South Africans as xenophobic. Indeed we do have a challenge of illegal immigration in South Africa and it’s not a problem unique to South Africa. There are many country’s affected by this. South Africa is a signatory of the Geneva Convention and we must deal with this challenge within the perimeters of the law. We can’t deal with it with hatred. That is why government has adopted a program of action to deal with this particular challenge which the President has made a public announcement. We have called for law enforcement and calmness and follow the government’s Action Plan on dealing with illegal immigration. We have made it very clear as the ANC, we cannot and should not be associated with anything that amounts to hate crimes. In this particular instance the majority of South Africans are people of Ubuntu and humanity. Because we too would not be free without the solidarity and assistance of country’s such as Mozambique in the fight against apartheid. Many people sacrificed such as Samora Machel the President of Mozambique and many combatants died here fighting against apartheid. #ANCinMozambique #ANCatWORK

[WATCH] Comrades the threat of this violence that is being promoted here is that there is a promotion of creating animosity between South Africa and the rest of the continent. South Africa does business with other African countries. We buy oil from the continent and many South African business do business on the continent. Soon those businesses will be removed and we have South Africans working in those countries. We must never allow our Ubuntu to be undermined by vigilantes. These people are damaging the image of the country and the state must act and act decisively.

[WATCH] REBUILDING OF POROUS BORDERS Our people are correct, we do have an issue of porous borders and government is addressing it. Trump declared that he will build a wall and that citizens will pay for it, we can’t afford to do that here in South Africa with peoples tax. When I was minister of police we went to Mozambique to address the issue of cars stolen in South Africa. When we would speak to the authorities on the other side they would inform us that there is nothing they could do to apprehend these criminals. That issue has been address by government. When South Africans were in exile they were in these countries legally and those government sheltering our struggle hero’s knew of their presence in their countries. Also they stayed in designated areas. We also gave back the buildings we utilised and used as accommodation such as the Solomon Mahlangu House. #ANCMediaBriefing #RegisterToVoteANC #YearOfDecisiveAction

Two freedom fighters meet in Tehran. Lest we forget, prior to Iranian revolution, the Shah regime was a close ally of apartheid regime. The latter was getting oil for a song from the Shah’s despotic regime. In 1979, things changed through the leadership of Imam Khomeini supported by Shaheed Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khameine to cut ties with racist South Africa. Their stance was clear: Iran cannot have relations with a racist oppressive regime. Shah’s family was exiled and they were welcomed by apartheid regime and to this day they still own a house in Joburg. We must not forget our friends✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿

This is Du Noon, Ward 104 where recently we won a by-election. It’s been raining heavily in Cape Town. One wonders how the DA-led city will respond to the flooding crisis in many working class neighbourhoods. They will probably be silent. They will not do the drama they did in Joburg 🛶 Maybe we have an opportunity to build our own narrative.
