With great sadness, informing all that our elderly Veteran from Indian Navy Nanjunda Sir, breathed his late last night, in the ICU of the District hospital in Tumkur. After all tests last month, doctors had said his heart is weak and surgery on the fractured leg was ruled out. His health did not improve despite nutrition and medical care in the old age home and he was readmitted to the ICU last week where he seemed to be improving. Good samaritan Mahesh kept me informed and the best possible was done under the circumstances but God willed otherwise. 💔🙏 Together, we must accept and feel blessed to have been able to make his last days comfortable. Some of you had supported financially and of the Rs 56000 received, Mahesh is now left with Rs 1500. Last month, Nanjunda Sir had also told me he needed our support for his last rites and the same is being done by us as per his wishes. Farewell Sir. Thank you for your service to the nation. Mom at 92 needs care like a baby physically, yet mentally and emotionally she remains alert and uncomplainingly accepting of her pain and incapacitation Early this morning, she asked if tomorrow is Rama Navami Although reluctant to even speak these days, in her frail voice she sang in praise of Shri Rama and while singing her voice became stronger ❤️ Truly, God gives more strength than one can imagine🙏🙏

This #ArmyDay, an absolute honour to share a very special 27 year old news clip sent to me by Amrapali Acharya, sister of Maha Veer Major Padmapani Acharya MVC She was jumping excitedly in the stands when her brother, as a young Capt, led the very tall contingent of The Rajputana Rifles in the 1997 #RepublicDayParade 🇮🇳 Two years later, fighting battle after battle in the #Kargil War, he was among Bravehearts who sacrificed all & became 'ek Saathi aur bhi tha..' 🙏🇮🇳 Daughter Aparajitha wasn't yet born when Maj Padmapani Acharya MVC wrote to his parents and pregnant wife Charulatha from the war, telling them how fighting to defend our nation is an 'honour of a lifetime...' This clip is probably the only one in which Aparajita can see her handsome Braveheart father 'moving'.... Imagine how precious it is for the Acharya family and now, also for us🙏 Greetings to all our braves on the borders, soldiers serving and retired, and to their families Let us all strive to be citizens worth fighting for. Respect and gratitude to War Veterans like Petty Officer Nanjunda Swamy who served 14 years in Indian Navy and saw 1965 and 1971 war victories. Unfortunately retired without a pension. Though forgetful, very aware of our Defence Assets. Do listen to his clear words 🇮🇳 Through good Samaritan Mahesh, we have been in touch with the 89 year old Veteran who in his twilight years is in an old age home 💔 He has become very weak and is not happy in the current place. Has been requesting to be shifted to another old age home. Hoping that will be facilitated soon 🙏 Any thoughts and good wishes will be conveyed to the Veteran. Jai Hind Ki Sena🇮🇳

When veterans and families reached their old unit to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee... their joy to be back is heard in spontaneous singing of the Garhwali song 'Bedu- Paako....' Where else but in the fauji family will you see such bonding and loyalty, that despite never meeting before, even grandchildren of late soldiers are welcomed and looked after as 'paltan ke bacche'?! Last Saturday, many family members who travelled from afar to pay respects to their Braveheart soldiers at the National War Memorial also got the opportunity to witness 'Change of Guard' ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan Raja beta's coursemate ensured tickets and front row seats ❤️🙏 If you haven't seen this wonderful ceremony that is open to public every Saturday from 8 am at our spectacular Rashtrapati Bhavan, do book tickets on A tiny glimpse of many goosebumps moments 🫡 Jai Hind Ki Sena 🇮🇳
