Hard to believe this is the UK. Unfortunately the scenes in Stourbridge will almost certainly become more frequent as our climate continues to rapidly warm.

Here’s a before &amp; after view after the village of Batten in Switzerland was destroyed by a glacial collapse. Fortunately, the town had been evacuated long before disaster struck. Climate change likely had a role in this.

An early plume of warm air is pushing across the UK through today and tomorrow. Potential for 20°C in a few places tomorrow 📈

Tomorrow is the first day of meteorological autumn. We are just a few months away from potentially seeing this outside. You've got the big coat on, you've been checking the lamp post for hours and finally.. the snow arrives ❄️ ⛄️

#StormFloris moves in through tonight and tomorrow with the strongest gusts expected across Scotland during Monday afternoon. Quite a potent, deep area of low pressure for the time of year.

Morning ❄️ A band of rain, sleet and snow moved southeast overnight bringing 1-2CM in places, accumulations mostly across higher ground based on reports. Heavy snow showers continued to pack into northern Scotland overnight too. Did you see snow?

I’m surprised what’s happened in Switzerland isn’t a bigger story. An entire town wiped off the map by a glacier collapsing, likely as a direct result of our warming climate. This is like something out of a disaster movie.

This seems normal for.. Edinburgh.

Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh. How a fire starts is largely academic, the conditions that allow for fires like this, i.e prolonged dry and hot periods are becoming more frequent, as such, wildfires are increasing in the UK.

Woah!! Certainly up there with some of the best tornado footage i’ve seen for the UK, near Luton just after 4pm.

Record breaker Hurricane #Melissa approaching the Jamaican coastline as a category 5 storm. Sustained winds of 175MPH and a recent gust of 241MPH makes it the strongest wind gust ever recorded in a hurricane. If I were religious I’d be praying.

Stunning winter wonderland scenes in the Cairngorms today. I know many of us in the south are waiting for scenes like this.

The first drone footage showing the damage from Hurricane Melissa in a Jamaican fishing village. So far there have been 4 confirmed fatalities from the island which is remarkably low given how strong this hurricane was.
