This evening, Metro Fire, Cosumnes Fire, and Sacramento Fire proudly deployed Strike Team 4801-C to the Palisades Fire in Southern California. 4801-C consists of 22 firefighters staffing five Type 1 engines, and one strike team vehicle. This deployment showcases the strength and resilience of the California Master Mutual Aid Agreement, and highlights the importance of emergency resource sharing statewide. Fire season is now year-round, and the ability to support the mission of saving lives and protecting property throughout our state has never been more critical. We wish our Sacramento County crews safe travels as they join our brothers and sisters on the front lines in Los Angeles County. Cosumnes Fire Dept. The vehicle battery compartment spontaneously caught fire while it was traveling freeway speeds on EB Hwy 50. The fire was extinguished with approx 6,000 gallons of water, as the battery cells continued to combust. Thankfully no injuries were reported.
