I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning!! About to kick off a 10 hour flight from beautiful southern #Italy across the North Atlantic back to Boeing Airplanes in #Charleston #SouthCarolina with several tons worth of #B787 #DreamLiner fuselages fresh from the factory here in #Taranto. That is a beautiful sight! It’s amazing when you’re able to visualize the wake turbulence, landing gear drag and massive vortices created by a 747 in the landing configuration! When tower tells you “caution wake turbulence heavy 747” you’d better pay attention!

Off to Brazil last month… My flying First Officer’s wife caught our departure off of Miami Int'l Airport Miami’s runway 9 from the famous “El Dorado” furniture store spotting location. Flap 10 takeoff, relatively light. Beautiful day to take this gorgeous lady out for a spin!

There is absolutely nothing more beautiful than catching the sun sink below the horizon from 41,000 feet up. I’ve always felt a sense of nostalgia, almost sadness at the sight of the setting sun because it signifies the end of another day on this earth and one less to live. I’ve seen thousands of these and each one truly is a deeply moving experience. Live each day to the fullest, tell your loved ones you love them and give thanks to God for all you have! I do every day.
