I should be sleeping but I’m too upset about this Sorsby situation. This is the clearest case for NCAA enforcement & YET all of that can be upended by a locally elected judge without any articulated legal basis. This is an existential crisis & I hope the NCAA treats it as such.

B1G Part II: Pure Michigan Upgrades at every level esp HC, OC, DC Huge portal additions from Utah & key retentions from last year should improve both offense & defense. Expect a big leap from Underwood. Team 147 should make the CFP even with a tough schedule

LSU v USC Same story, new QBs, new DCs, great WRs, ?s on D LSU has a better o line, but SC can get more creative with its run game. SC also has an X factor in Branch and a slight advantage in Vegas. SC +4.5 but LSU deserves the W for scheduling these early season games.

TTU/Paxton teed this up for the Big 12, who is now seeking declaratory relief (and attorneys fees) under the 1st amendment, ICC & fed/state law. Big 12 paints them as hypocrites & defends its broad right to impose sanctions (that TTU has also supported via the Big 12)

More thoughts on Sorsby’s threatened legal action: I don’t think he has standing or a clear cause of action, even if there’s been some inconsistencies. Kessler may have some tricky ethical issues based on previous representation of NFLPA. More importantly: just a bad idea!

My thoughts on Kyle Whittingham: Happy he was available & that he’ll hopefully bring Jason Beck, who would be a great OC & QB developer. He’s a badass but boring in the best possible way. He’s done a lot with a little, so can’t wait to see what he does with more.

Peach 🍑 Bowl: Oregon vs Indiana Indiana has anti-star power (fewer blue chips, but a chip on their shoulder) I’m worried about Oregon’s ability to block, pass, run, and convert on 3rd down By contrast, Indiana’s offense has been crazy efficient Hoosiers -3.5 or more
