The entire industry standardized on static hover 15 years ago and just… stopped thinking about it. Fluid hover is my take to respect the user's cursor.

Your scrolling lists probably look done when they’re not. macOS hides scrollbars, and clipped content gives no hint there’s more below. Here’s how to fix it →

Too many scrollable list that are not scrolled. Exploring the best technique to create affordance that there's more on the scroll. Best example you've been out there?

Surfaces have gain a lot of attention lately. I've improved the page to be more explicit on the problem its trying to solve. Implemented it in prod for a client last week from Tailwind v3. Worked like a breath.

The most underrated thing about shadcn: it has NO opinion on how your app should feel. YOU bring the personality. YOU bring the taste. Shadcn/ui primitives give you the best place to start. Here's what mine became (fully open source) Thank you shadcn

New component drop: Card At Feedly we had 20+ card components. A mess we kept trying to refactor into something cohesive. So I built the one to rule them all. 6,144 combinations, each tested by my own two eyes. I could play with these settings for hours. Open source →

New side project: a tiny Chrome extension to Slooow down and capture any web animation. I never open the animation devtools, but I always want to see how far a team pushed their polish. 0.1x turns every interface into a motion design critique — you see things you’d normally miss.

Hard-coded surface levels break the moment you nest a popover inside a dialog. Fluid Functionalism Surfaces fixes this with 8 substrate-aware levels — components read their depth from context and lift relative to it. Light mode, dark mode, any depth. One primitive. Zero props passed between layers. (Open Source)

Every project needs OG images and a favicon set. nobody wants to make them. metadata-gen scans your repo — colors, logo, title — and generates the whole set locally. no API keys, no upload. npx metadata-gen init
