![Albert Pujols talking hitting and referencing what Tony Gwynn always preached: "swing the knob, not the barrel" People often forget that one of Albert Pujols’ idols was Tony Gwynn. During Pujols’ first All-Star Game — which also happened to be Gwynn’s last—Albert expressed his deep admiration and respect for Tony. Pujols has mentioned on several occasions that Gwynn’s 1990s hitting clinic video played a significant role in shaping his approach at the plate. A legend," Pujols said. "Just an unbelievable hitter. You don't get to go hit piece on AJ Preller day in day out, year after year (literally trying to get him fired), player after player endlessly; even disrespectful to the late owner after his passing; then pull this fake soft sorry not sorry act — only because AJ cucked your ass and shoved proving you wrong down your miserable throat. This isn't you apologizing, it's you trying to save face for being wrong again. Fuck this guy forever.
