Trump sued his own government for $10 billion. Today he settled with the DOJ he runs and cut the judge out of the process. The deal: a $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund his Attorney General controls, with no court oversight and no transparency. It’s the most corrupt scheme of his presidency.

This is just dumb. We run a trade surplus with Spain. They buy more from us than we buy from them. Cutting off trade with Spain means selling less to one of our customers. That hurts American exporters, American workers, and the communities that depend on those exports.

Trump’s government committed up to $1.6 billion of your tax dollars to a tungsten mine in Kazakhstan. Then the sons showed up. Eric and Don Jr. tied to a 20% stake. Lutnick’s sons also cashed in. The fathers negotiate, the government pays, the children profit. They are not even hiding it.

The government just spent $1.5 billion of your money buying two immigration prisons from CoreCivic, including Otay Mesa in San Diego. The company walks away with over a billion. And per ABC News, Trump owns CoreCivic stock. He holds shares in the company his own administration just enriched. A president should never profit from a choice his government makes. Totally corrupt.

Justice Alito’s son works inside Trump’s Treasury. Alito ruled on a case where Treasury was the defendant and didn’t recuse. The WSJ says calling this out is “attacking the Court.” No. Federal law requires recusal when impartiality “might reasonably be questioned.” A judge ruling on his son’s employer? Question answered. Time for a binding Supreme Court ethics code.

This is outrageous. The Election Assistance Commission is bipartisan by law. It certifies voting machines and sets security standards. Now it has zero commissioners and cannot act. When courts blocked his voting orders and Congress stalled his restrictions, Trump fired the umpire instead.

The Trump administration is pulling a working $368 million ocean monitoring system out of the water. Equipment taxpayers already bought and paid for, removed right as record temperatures and a possible collapse of Atlantic currents have scientists alarmed. There is no savings analysis. The gear is already paid for. And the same people killing the monitors want to mine the deep sea, destroying the only tools that could measure the damage. They are smashing the gauges while the engine is on fire. You cannot see the damage if you break the instruments first.

Listen to Trump’s own words regarding who is responsible for a government shutdown: “Problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top.” “The president is the leader, and he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead.” “I really think the pressure is on the president.” He is now refusing to meet with us, refusing to negotiate, refusing to solve anything at all. He is demonstrating the exact opposite of leadership. This is on him.

Gladys and Nelson Gonzalez lived in our community for 35 years. They paid taxes, raised a family, followed every rule—and were deported anyway. They did everything right and were failed by a broken system, made worse by the current administration’s cruelty. This is indefensible.

ICE let us walk through the doors of the Otay Mesa Detention Center on Monday. Then they handed us a memo telling us we were not allowed to talk to anyone held inside. The memo, signed that same day by the Acting ICE Director, says members of Congress must now identify detainees by name and obtain signed consent two days in advance before speaking with a single one of them. Federal law gives us clear authority to inspect these facilities at will. We already had to sue in federal court just to get in the door. Now there is a new barrier, invented this week, to make sure we never hear from the people actually being detained. If everyone inside is being treated lawfully and with humanity, what exactly is the administration trying to hide?
