The Committee reviewed the rollout of fuel subsidy for motorcyclists, small farmers, public transport & goods transport in all provinces , GB & AJK. The Committee noted that global fuel prices have declined sharply, the benefit of which has already been passed on to the consumers, and agreed to discontinue the subsidy with the approval of the Prime Minister. DPM/FM appreciated the work of the committee marked by sustained interprovincial coordination and directed to document lessons learnt from this excercise, address gaps in data and delivery to strengthen future intiatives with a view to improve public service delivery. The meeting was attended by SAPM Tariq Bajwa, federal secretaries of Petroleum and IT, Governor SBP, and senior representatives from all provinces, GB & AJK.

Pleased to welcome Pakistan’s Ambassadors posted in the GCC and the region at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today for the Regional Envoys’ Conference being held in Islamabad from 14–18 May 2026. At a time of evolving regional and global dynamics, Pakistan remains committed to proactive diplomacy, stronger strategic partnerships, enhanced economic cooperation with our brotherly countries, and continued efforts for regional peace and stability. I stressed the importance of focused and productive deliberations during the Conference and directed our envoys to present practical recommendations to further advance Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic priorities in the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with our envoys remain, at the forefront of promoting Pakistan’s interests abroad and reinforcing the country’s role as a constructive partner for regional peace, connectivity, and shared prosperity.
