Rep. Alex Falconer (DFL, HD 49A - Eden Prairie) says there’s “no purpose” for a semi-auto rifle in deer hunting because it would “blow the deer apart.” That’s not just wrong, it’s embarrassingly wrong. An AR-15 typically fires a small .223/5.56 round — far less powerful than many traditional hunting rifles. So now we’re writing gun bans based on made-up ballistics? 🤔 The Second Amendment doesn’t hinge on his hunting preferences anyway. It protects arms “in common use” for lawful purposes — including self-defense. This isn’t about hunting. It’s about banning what they don’t understand. 👉🏼 WE WON. The binary trigger case is over, and binary triggers are legal again in Minnesota. In the final 20 minutes of the 2024 session, the DFL trifecta buried a binary trigger ban inside a 1,600-page omnibus bill. We sued Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison, arguing the ban and the way the bill was passed violated the single-subject clause of the Minnesota Constitution. We won in Ramsey County District Court last year. The state appealed. The Court of Appeals agreed with us again. And now the state has declined to take it to the Minnesota Supreme Court. Final judgment is in. Binary triggers are legal to purchase, possess, transfer, and sell in Minnesota with no restrictions. Manufacturers are already shipping to the state. This is what our legal program does: we challenge Second Amendment violations across Minnesota, and we win. More is coming. The largest & most effective gun rights group in Minnesota was just told we can’t testify against most of the gun control bills tomorrow. Why? Because the schedule is “full.” Apparently, there’s plenty of room for gun control activists and other testifiers, but not the people representing thousands of Minnesota gun owners. 🚨 BREAKING from the MN Court of Appeals 🚨 Today was the State’s appeal in Caucus v. Walz—our case challenging the binary trigger ban under the single-subject clause. We also cross-appealed to strike down the whole bill. And in oral arguments… the State just folded. 👉 They conceded the binary trigger ban was NOT germane to the omnibus bill. That’s game over on that issue. The ban is dead. But the bigger fight continues 👇 We’re pushing to strike down the entire 1,400+ page omnibus bill that was jammed through in the final minutes of the 2024 legislative session. Rep. Pam Altendorf (R-Red Wing) takes the House floor on May 14th, 2026 with one of the most pointed and emotionally clear-eyed moments of the entire HF 5140 debate. Rep. Altendorf opens with something rare in this debate: real, direct compassion for the families who have endured unimaginable tragedy — the families of the Annunciation Catholic Church and School shooting, and every other family in Minnesota whose loved ones have been touched by gun violence. But she does not stop there. Because the families deserve better than what the DFL is doing in their name. "The veil has been lifted on this gun bill." In a few short, devastating lines, Rep. Altendorf names exactly what HF 5140 actually is — and what it is not: It is not a serious bipartisan effort to address public safety. Gov. Walz Can’t Define “Assault Weapons” — But Wants to Ban Them Anyway Gov. Walz says he “supports legal gun ownership” — right before pushing an “assault weapons” ban he can’t even define. 🤡 “Not made for war”? Every common firearm traces its lineage to military tech. That’s not an argument — it’s a talking point. He admits “the devil’s in the details” — and he’s right. Because the details are where constitutional rights go to die. He also says he trusts trained, licensed permit holders. So why is the DFL trying to ban lawful carry at the Capitol? There’s a bizarre rumor floating around gun social media that the Supreme Court just handed down some magical “9-0 decision” striking down all gun control laws. Nope. That did not happen. Not even close. As MNGOC Chair Bryan Strawser explains in this video: ✅ No SCOTUS case has struck down all gun laws ✅ No 9-0 ruling nuked “assault weapon” bans ✅ No magazine ban case has been decided by the Court ✅ The Supreme Court hasn’t even taken one of those cases yet as of May 6, 2026 What has happened? • New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v.
