Today I held my final town hall with WHO African Region colleagues. I am deeply grateful for the extraordinary team that has made this journey unforgettable. Every milestone of the last 10 years, every challenge overcome—we did it together. Thank you. It is bittersweet to say goodbye, but I leave knowing that WHOAFRO is in capable hands with Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu as Acting Regional Director. Let’s keep pushing boundaries for the people of Africa. The Legacy Book, capturing our journey, is now available. I encourage you to explore the insights, read about the milestones and progress we have made.

Today #Rwanda declared the end of the #Marburg outbreak. Leadership, partnerships, science & strong community involvement have proven key to bringing the outbreak to an end. Congratulations to the government, partners, health workers and World Health Organization (WHO) colleagues who supported all aspects of the response to ensure effective control and stopping the spread of the virus!
