Advancing Medical Education Through Digital Access! Union Health Secretary Smt. Punya Salila Srivastava addressed the 5th ERMED Consortium National Training-cum-Conference on ‘Digital Health Resources: Redefining Access Through Libraries’, organised by the National Medical Library in New Delhi. Highlighting the importance of equitable access to medical knowledge, she underscored the Government's efforts through the One Nation One Subscription initiative and the provision of specialized medical resources to nearly 20,000 students across 93 medical colleges. Strengthening India’s resolve towards zero preventable maternal and newborn deaths. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is advancing SUMAN Roadmap 2030 to strengthen maternal and newborn healthcare from pre-pregnancy care and safe childbirth to postnatal care and timely referral. Prioritising 130 districts across 13 high-focus States, the Roadmap enables focused, locally responsive action by health systems and communities. With 7.29 crore+ people screened, 20 lakh+ carriers identified, 2.5 lakh people diagnosed and 4.93 crore+ Sickle Cell Cards distributed, India is advancing towards its goal of eliminating Sickle Cell Disease as a public health problem by 2047. At the launch of OneSCD on the sidelines of #UNGA81, Ms. Lea Kilinga Masamo, Founder & Executive Director, Africa Sickle Cell Organisation, highlighted the positive change being witnessed in the lives of people living with Sickle Cell Disease in India.
