I’m really glad people are finally talking about how grown women aren’t “allowed” to dress / enjoy cute things without someone making it weird. Cuteness shouldn’t have an age limit. I know this isn’t an issue that only affects Black women, but growing up I definitely felt like softness and cuteness weren’t things people wanted to associate with us LOL ( it’s still like that ) It always felt like we were pushed into boxes like aggression & hypersexuality instead. I hate the idea that women could avoid harassment if we just “covered up more.” That narrative isn’t true. It completely ignores black women ( also women in general) who are curvy, fuller-figured, and busty like me, whose bodies are sexualized regardless of what we wear.
