I just wrote that the Palestinian Civil Defense managed to retrieve the remains of 101 victims of Israeli strikes in 2023 in Gaza City. No more details were provided. So I decided to do some search about that particular massacre and found out that it occurred on October 25, 2023 when Israel bombed the Crown Tower (Burj al-Taj) There were an estimated 300 people in the Crown Tower, a modern, seven-floor residential building that has 30 apartments. Reporting by DER SPIEGEL in July 2024 found that at least 129 people were killed in the Crown Tower alone, most of them women and children. At the time, DER SPIEGEL stated that "it is possible that more bodies are still lying beneath the rubble that nobody knows about. Dozens of people were injured." Videos show a series of roughly 20 explosions around the building. Weapons expert Chris Cobb-Smith and a UN investigation concluded that large U.S.-made GBU-31/Mk-84-type bombs were likely used.

I have to add one important point as people check Google Maps for the latest satellite imagery of the Gaza Strip. The satellite imagery for Gaza City and North Gaza has not been updated since December 2024. I just checked Beit Lahia, for example, and Google Maps still shows the majority of buildings, including schools, standing. But I have footage showing entire swaths of the city wiped out in 2025. Here is one video from April 2025 that was sent to me at the time. It of our larger neighborhood. Today i checked Google Maps and it showed most buildings standing, which is untrue. But from my previous coverage, I remember documenting how Israel wiped out the village of Khuza’a, west of Khan Younis, as well as the city of Abasan al-Kabira. Looking at these images, it feels as if someone took each of these houses, put them in a pestle, and crushed and ground them with a mortar. I generated a link to the area so you can all look for yourselves on your own devices.
