India has a disturbingly high rate of rape cases. The situation is worsened by the normalization of rape in media and movies. Since the 90s, item songs in the media have played a significant role in objectifying women, portraying them as mere entertainment. This has become a deeply ingrained culture in this region. The normalization has reached a point where some men even harass women who dress modestly. Implementing the death penalty for rapists could help reduce the crime. Firstly, enforcing the death penalty is crucial, and secondly, we need to reform our society.
