Seeing quite a bit of finger-pointing & “f*ck it, let Trump do what he wants” on the pro-democracy side right now. So to all of you, a humble request: If we’ve learned nothing from the last, idk, bajillion years, maybe we can acknowledge that Trump & Putin have been successful thus far because they’ve divided & exhausted us. Going into Election Day, a lot of people already felt angry & apathetic — didn’t vote, voted third party, maybe even voted for Trump just to spite democracy for whatever reason. The blame-game & defeatism is helping our adversaries. Now is the time to organize, accumulate strength in numbers, and build communities & coalitions — locally & from afar. January 20th is right around the corner — and if we don’t use this time to ready ourselves, it’s gonna be exponentially harder to fend them off by then. If you want to be part of the bulwark against authoritarianism, this 13 minutes from Rachel Maddow is a good place to start. 👇 Rest up, reach out, & tap into your inner pirate energy. 🏴‍☠️🇺🇸
