I have been hesitant to post about the two Nigerian children who died from separate tragic incidents in Canada recently. In just 10 days, two young children in our community lost their lives in the most painful way; Amna Ayomide Bennett in Ontario and 12-year-old Damilola Khalid Afolabi in Calgary. No parent should ever have to receive that kind of news. No family should have to come to Canada full of hope, only to be met with such heartbreak. To every parent raising children in a new country, I know you are doing your best. But let this be a painful reminder that one extra step, one extra check, one extra moment of supervision can make a difference. May God comfort both families and protect every child in our community. #NigeriansInCanada
