Sheikh Adan Kusow from Garissa County has expressed concerns about male nurses assisting pregnant Somali women during labor/ giving birth. He also objects to male student trainees observing deliveries of Muslim Somali women. He stated that if his pregnant wife in labor is attended by male nurses instead of female nurses, she should return home, and if she dies, she will simply be buried.

Mandera Governor Mohamud Adan Khalif just dropped a bombshell on SHA: “From Jan-July, our Level 2 & 3 hospitals alone handled 1,000 deliveries… ZERO reimbursed by SHA. If payments don’t come, what do we tell the next 1,000 expectant mothers? Turn them away?
